This place is amazing! My dogs and I had a lovely, relaxing 6 night stay. The cabins are clean and well equipped with everything you might need. The bed was super comfortable, and waking up to fabulous countryside views was a delight. Lovely long walks for the dogs in the woods and a secure field for them to mooch around in, ensured that they enjoyed their holiday as much as I did. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back

Third time staying here. A warm and friendly welcome awaits you from the lovely hosts Tom and Sarah. The cabins are always clean, well equipped and toasty warm even when it’s very frosty outside. The cabins are extremely dog friendly with excellent non slip flooring, throws for the furniture, welcome treats and a secure garden. A fenced exercise field and woodland walks are right on the doorstep to keep the dogs happy.

Had a lovely stay in the duck cabin 9th/16th May 2025 away from the hustle & bustle of life just what we needed cabin are well equipped and very clean the hot tub is fab the beds are so comfy that my wife wants a new Emma mattress my wee westie called wallace loved his walks upto see the 🐑 🐐 🐄 so I would very recommend this if you just want some peace and quiet I will be back next year

We had a lovely long weekend The Sheeps Pen. Owners were very welcoming and informative and gave us lots of pointers for the surrounding area. Cabin was clean with lots of little personal touches that made us feel really at home. It was warm inside and our dogs loved lounging around and relaxing while we took a dip in the wonderful hot tub. I honestly can say it was such a relaxing get away and so worth the five hour journey to get there. We really hope to come back soon!

Stunning little cabin - we had the most perfect holiday - the enclosed garden was great for our pup Murray to safely play in - and the secure field was an added bonus.
The cabin is so modern and has every need already thought of - shower room is amazing and the use of space is excellent

We recently stayed in "The Sheep Pen" at Bowmuir Farm and were shocked to encounter a persistent mouse infestation in both the kitchen and bedroom. Droppings were found on surfaces in the bedroom area and also kitchen/living area, and our food was chewed overnight. This made the property completely unfit for purpose. Despite the owners setting traps, the problem continued throughout our stay. We were forced to clean up mice droppings ourselves and share the accommodation with traps, knowing we might encounter dead mice at any moment.

We reported the issue to the owners during our stay. Their response—a dozen eggs as an apology—felt completely inadequate for such a serious issue. We were essentially expected to tolerate the infestation and the ongoing presence of traps. This lack of action is why we feel compelled to take the matter further.

We paid over £400 for x3 nights, expecting a comfortable, relaxing holiday, especially with features like the hot tub and other advertised extras. While we understand this is a farm location, no one expects to find mice in the bedroom or have their holiday experience disrupted in this way.

We reported the issue to the letting agent, Holiday Cottages. However, the owners took over two weeks to respond after our complaint and offered only a £100 refund. This does not reflect the severity of the situation or the distress and health risks involved. We have since contacted Environmental Health to investigate further.

We expected a clean, safe holiday property and were deeply disappointed by this experience. I hope others consider this before booking

The Sheep Pen was perfect for our festive break at Bowmuir Farm. Clean, comfortable and warm and the sheep-themed decor was a lovely touch. The owners are lovely, very friendly and had thoughtfully decorated the cabin with lovely xmas decorations. This was our second stay at Bowmuir. It is such a perfect fit for our dog with enclosed garden, exercise field and lovely woods to go for a dog walk. The BBQ hut is amazing and a must for anyone who enjoys a BBQ. During our stay we were treated to beautiful sunrises, sunsets and the Northern Lights! We are already planning a return trip for 2025.

We stayed 2 nights in the Dog House and the cabin was cozy and spotlessly clean. There were 2 adults, 2 kids and one dog in our group, we had everything we could possibly need. There were good dog walks and beautiful countryside. At night you can see the stars while relaxing in the hot tub, then back into a warm cabin with underfloor heating, perfect.
