Good products and good service but the smokers who smoke right outside the exit really let the wholesaler down. Bookers have made them a smoking shelter at the back of the car park. Instead you got them smoking in couples causing a right old stench which happens to come in to the building. Move away from the exit which we use you donuts!

It's okay. Just be aware that a lot of items are NOT cheaper just because they are bought in bulk!!! It is certainly good value for a few items.

In the Brighton branch, on Saturday, around 11 am, I walked into the tobacco section, and a female employee named "Claire" said to me very rudely: You don't have a business account, you can't come in the tobacco section, I have to leave , can't stay here! . I don't know how confident she is to treat guests so rudely, maybe the managers didn't manage well! I haven't even complained to her manager, but she went to complain to the manager, saying that I violated the rules! The attitude is too bad, even if I don't know the rules, I can't treat guests with such words! Hope the top management of bookers takes this seriously! My very unpleasant experience! Waiting for reply.

Friendly and much better run than known competitors. Toilets clean and recently refurbished. Always complementary drinks for customers, and everything scans easily on the self scan system. Sometimes tills understaffed leading to avoidable waits, hence the 4 instead of 5. Still the best of its kind though. Still waiting for assistance with online access....

Prior to the pandemic, me and a friend used to enjoy visiting Bookers to have a casual browse and to stock up on bulk items. This weekend I urgently needed some items, so we decided to visit for the first time since the lockdowns. I wish we hadn't bothered.

We arrived just before 3pm, and the first 10 minutes were great. However, we were suddenly confronted by a fork lift driver heading towards us (I believe his name is John), with no beeper on the fork lift truck, who proceeded to have a go at us, telling us the the store was closed (this was at 3pm, mid afternoon!).

He then rudely told us that 4 calls had been put out - none of which we heard, and most would have been before we arrived. I was later informed by till staff that the PA system can't be heard in the part of the building we were in. There were no signs on the door with closing times clearly visible and no members of staff mentioned anything when we walked in.

As mentioned, I needed an item urgently, so I ran to the back of the store to quickly grab it before proceeding to the tills (as most people would do). Upon returning, we were confronted again by John, who proceeded to have another go and spoke to us like naughty teenagers (we're both close to 40). He then mentioned the times are on the website - why would anyone look at the website? Who expects anywhere to close at 3pm?

A few suggestions for bookers:

1) Don't assume everyone visiting are regulars who know how you operate. CLEARLY signal your closing times in a place everyone can see.

2) Fix your PA system.

3) Put beepers on your fork lift trucks. Not having them is dangerous, not only to customers, but also for staff members, who were still walking about after closing time.

4) Tell John to show respect to your customers and to not speak to them with disrespect, like they are misbehaving teenagers intentionally causing problems.

As for me, I left feeling very upset and belittled. I am glad Bookers didn't get my money. Frankly, if this is how they now operate, they don't deserve it.
