A Delightful First Visit to Bloomfield Fruit Farm – Scones to Remember!

My first visit to Bloomfield Fruit Farm was nothing short of fantastic, and it’s safe to say that I’ve found a new favorite spot! While the picturesque orchards and the opportunity to pick your own plums were certainly highlights, what truly made the visit memorable was the scone experience.

Freshly baked and served with luscious clotted cream and the most delightful raspberry jam, these scones were perfection on a plate. The scones had a light, buttery texture, golden on the outside and soft on the inside—just as they should be. The rich clotted cream paired beautifully with the sweet, slightly tangy raspberry jam, creating a combination that was simply irresistible.

The new café at Bloomfield is a wonderful addition, offering not just these amazing scones but also a selection of other treats, all in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed to enjoy my visit.

I’m already looking forward to returning, not just for the scones but to see how the farm changes throughout the season. Whether you’re here for the fruit picking or just for a delicious treat, Bloomfield Fruit Farm is definitely worth the visit!

We have just returned home from a wonderful few days on Bloomfield Fruit Farm. I don’t usually write reviews, but this place is a little gem!!
We stayed in one of the beautifully appointed cottages, where every creature comfort has been thought of (don’t miss the special biscuits).
Built in the last year or two, nestling in the fruit orchard, the cottage was both private and peaceful.
For over five decades the trees have been lovingly pruned and sculpted by Jeff, the 90 year old farmer who still runs the farm with his two sons.
We were here in January, still beautiful, but I must return when the blossom is out, it must be stunning.
Whilst we were toasty warm with underfloor heating and a well stocked log burner, there were bifold doors onto a private patio. Plus, for summer stays, garden furniture and afire pit enclosed in a plaited hazel hedge. ( securely enclosed if you have a dog/ small children).
We took our dog on a circular walk through farmland to one of the many surrounding old villages. There is a great pub in Morton for a well deserved lunch.
The cottage also had an electric car charging point, very convenient for refuelling on site.

We will definitely return for another holiday. The owners were so helpful and very friendly. Oh, and the farm shop brews a fabulous coffee!

Really nice relaxing place for a summer break. We went in mid April so no fruits were there but owner kindly allowed us to stay for a picnic spot. The place is quite, a pleasing view for the eyes and mind to escape from city stress life. We were told that there were no toilet facilities as there were being built so if you come with family you should also take a trip to "Ashlyn Farm Shop" later for all your "needs".

Fantastic first visit to Bloomfield Fruit Farm today, gorgeous orchards to walk round with PYO plums. The varieties available change through the season, so be sure to give them a call or check out their Facebook page if you have a favourite.

New for this season is a cafe with super tasty cake from a local baker and, LEAF TEA!!!!!! I cannot stress enough how fantabulous the tea was.

Looking forward to other visits through the season.

Excellent fruits and pick as much as you can at a fraction of price what you pay in supermarket for rubbery plums. Kid's will definitely enjoy.

Tranquil little orchard in sleepy Bobbingworth along a well signed lane . ( This way to p.y.o. plums) it's a simple but lovely old fashioned arrangement. You are given a bucket with your bag within . Pick as many plums as you need . They are then weighed and you pay in the little shop/shed . Beautiful orchard
