A great campsite, either for tents, small campers or even the bigger motorhomes.
A children's play area, fishing lakes. Electric Hook Up, toilets, showers, Elsan point. Great walks too

Recently camped here twice over the summer and found it great both times! The staff were all super helpful and really polite, the fields are extremely well looked after, the lakes are clean and excellently stocked with loads of swims, the fish are all in excellent condition (the ones i caught anyway). The fisheries bailiff was super helpful and friendly. The shower and toilet facilities are numerous and adequate, the shower is warm.
There is loads of wasps around the site but so long as your not leaving open food and drink around your seating area, it's manageable.
Even the neighbours are friendly, one called Frasier gave me and the kids all a lift back to the site to save us walking on the road π

This was our first substantive camping trip and we had a lovely time as a family.||We booked the playground field with EHU and were positioned at the corner on the left hand side as you drive in. This was a great position as we could see the play equipment but being a bit further away it wasn't quite so noisy. ||The playground was lovely for the children in our group (two families with two four year olds and a two year old). There were a couple of occasions when older children were climbing up the slides and being a bit too rambunctious, but this wasn't all the time. ||We did have an issue with one of the groups near us playing football and kicking their balls into our tent and surrounding area. This was caused by the on-site goal being allowed to be positioned amongst the tents, which wasn't ideal. We did ask the family to move it a few times but it kept creeping back. ||The toilets and showers were mostly clean. I did notice that one of the bins in the sink area of the ladies toilets hadn't been emptied in the 3 days we stayed, but the ones in the cubicles had. There are a few different shower blocks and the ones in the grey cabins were the newest and nicest.||The campsite was quiet after 11pm which we appreciated and the shop had a good range of items that you might need. ||We are happy we chose here and we'd happily recommend this site to other families. ||

Good campsite in terms of location, facilities fine for a busy bank holiday weekend (could be cleaner but it's camping at the end of the day!) and well-stocked shop. On arrival, was shown to our pitches for a group of 4 families but was quickly met with disapproval from the neighbouring campers who complained to staff, as they were clearly expecting to have that area all to themselves. I can see that it could be a plus to have unmarked pitches but in our case, it made for an awkward start to the weekend! The play park in the middle of the field was an initial plus for us but very quickly became a negative. Unsupervised children in the park, in the dark, until 9pm, screaming "fight, fight, fight", children selling things in the park from the early hours (something I have never come across before and struck me as very odd). Yes, there was a patrol at 9pm that went around every tent asking if they had children in the park but I just felt it was far too late to be doing this. ||We had a lot of issues with noise on the campsite, and in hindsight, it just wasn't right for us. I'm sure it suits some groups but we had young children that needed to be asleep but 8/9pm. 2 out of 3 night this was impossible due to a large group of children and adults playing football right by our tents, to the point when their goalpost was leaning against our tent and leather balls were flying across our pitches. They were loud until 11pm (when quiet time starts) but one of the families continued to shout in their tent, that was pitched within 2 metres of ours, and then had a child screaming from 5am in the morning. None of this was helped by another group effectively having a floodlight on the top of their camper or caravan, shining brightly through the tents. Just unneccesary!||Also, be aware that there is a wedding venue opposite and they played extremely loud live music until late. ||I'm sure this campsite suits some families and groups, especially if you really want to let your hair down and you're happy for your kids to roam free in the dark but it wasn't for us. We won't return.

Stayed with another family and our kids for 2 nights / 3 days. ||Plus side: |Apart from the man who checked us in (who was grumpy), the staff who we encountered were all friendly. |Playground was awesome and the kids loved it! |Layout of the site was good and spacious without being too vast.|Apart from the points below - it was a nice place to be.||Down side:|We were in the paddock (thank goodness), The playground field.was completely over run and crowded with LOTS of noisy people. I used the toilet at midnight and good still hear these people at that time. ||In the paddock, there was no hot water to wash up with, no shower blocks, and only 1 one the hot water taps (electric) worked in the male toilets. That meant to have a shower, I had to use one of the two male shower cubicles that seemed to serve the whole campsite in the playground field, and the same for washing up. Why a site of this site can't extend the hot water is beyond me.||Cleanliness is a bit gross to be fair. I never saw a cleaner throughout the weekend I stayed, and sinks, toilets and showers always looked the same low standard cleanliness., irrespective of time of day. The paddock blocks need serious renovations!||Whilst were sitting outside having breakfast on the Saturday morning, the sewage was emptied causing a disgusting waft of smells across the campsite, why this couldn't have been done later in the day when most people aren't at least likely to eat shows lack of customer care! ||I would go back - but it wouldn't be my first choice...

The Lodges.
They are fantastic and the owners are excellent.
I could go into great detail about the Lodges but enough to say they are not cheap but you really do get what you pay for. I cannot praise the owners enough for their attention to detail, the standard of equipment, location and setting. I would go again purely for the excellent accomodation.
The campsite however is for a completely different holiday sector, if large camping groups sometimes noisily and numerous children thoroughly enjoying themselves till after dark are your thing then it's for you.

We love Blacklands! Just returned home from an another weekend of camping. |Our boys absolutely love the park, lots of new updates and renovations which was lovely to see. The fishing lakes are brilliant, such beautiful grounds. Toilet and shower blocks good and plentiful. |The staff at Blacklands are AMAZING. Really friendly and hard working. One pitch was playing very loud music from their car which resulted in a member of staff arriving to tell them to turn it off. We are very grateful for this with two young boys trying to sleep at the time. Good to see they enforce their campsite rules. |Good shop. Only thing we missed was the outside catering van that they have had in the past. Hopefully they will return. We will be back regardless!

Worst stay at a campsite.
The staff were rude; dismissive and invasive during our stay.
Firstly we were met with hostility when emailing back and forth with one of the male team as we had some issues with our payments. He was unhelpful and rude and insincere in his approach.
Upon arrival, we were then escorted by a male team member, Darren. Half way along the road he stopped and got out to speak to another worker and made us wait over 10mins whilst they spoke. Then on getting to the ground, he proceeded to take a 15 min personal call whilst we waited in the car to be told where to go.
Another male worker then continuously kept coming over to our tent to talk down to us. He was staying on site in a tent across from us and persisted to come over to us every hour to tell us off for something or another. He was totally inappropriate towards us, giving snide remarks. There was over 100 people on site, we were not loud or disrespectful to others, yet this male worker thought it was his duty to manage us on site.
He however, continued to drink outside until 3am with this family, shouting and swearing.
We were made to feel so on edge and uncomfortable during our entire first night that we decided to leave the next morning.
On top of the staff issues, the facilities were awful! No toilet seats in the toilets, all were unclean. The sinks were all blocked and stunk and there was a huge wasp issue.
Absolute shambles, the worst place we have ever camped. The entire staff team were awful and should be taught how to treat customers with kindness.
