Lovely pleasant market with loads of varieties. I loved the pies sold along with the coffee stall. The veggie/ fruit stall near the car park is fairly priced with loads of options. The stall owners are pretty friendly and enjoyed the chat with the pie shop owner. Her vegetarian pies are so delectable and so was the apple crumble pie.

I was investigating Blackheath to write a feature for my blog. I popped along to the Farmers Market which was lovely. It is small but very friendly. It is located in the carpark of the train station so very convenient to get there. The stalls sell bread, cakes, fruit, veg, flowers, etc. A great selection of produce. It is open Sunday mornings.

A gem of a market offering a good variety of produce, friendly store owners and a great atmosphere. I was especially taken by the quality of the fruit and veggies, along with the artisanal cheeses (huge fan of the oak smoked cheese from Winterdale). There were also a couple of specialty stalls offering pickles, homemade ketchup, pies and pastries. Makes for a leisurely Sunday morning and a great place to pick up quality produce for the rest of the week.

With the notable exception of one of the dairy vendors (who seems entirely fixated on touching his forelock to the parvenu who frequent the market, the produce is almost uniformly excellent. The standout here is the fresh pasta & pesto stall - delicious to look at and even more so to enjoy. Be warned, some still insist on cash only but by and large the majority have embraced the present. Do make a full circuit before committing to anything - the nicer traders all are at the back (especially if you like tomatoes, strawberries or fresh asparagus).

It was great to be out and about after lock down. Everyone's trying to get back to normal. Meat, fish vegetables, cakes and juices on sale, plus burgers and sauges from farms to eat on the day, all very tastey. It's a nice stroll through Blackheath afterwards to Greewich, to continue your day.
