We chose Birdsall House for our venue for our wedding this summer in August. Everything was absolutely perfect. I can’t thank Stephanie and Cara enough for accommodating us and our family for the weekend and organizing the most amazing wedding we could ask for. The house is so special and beautiful due to being family owned and so much history, and we were delighted to be able to use the property grounds for different parts, such as the ruins for the ceremony, the terrace for reception drinks, the ballroom for dinner, and then the lawn for an evening marquee. The planning and organization was just seamless and made for a magical event. Thank you again!

The beautiful surroundings of Birdsall House and St Mary's Church provided a wonderful and unique setting for our special day. We loved our wedding photos being taken at the old temple, the 12th century ruins and the lake. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish, allowing us to relax and enjoy the day to the full. We got married at Birdsall House in May 2023 and I cannot recommend it enough.

Firstly, it is a stunning venue, the house and grounds are so beautiful. The set up is very flexible and we had the option of having our ceremony either inside, outside in the old chapel ruins or the church on the grounds. A lot of stately home venues restrict you to a marquee outside so it was refreshing to be able to make the most of the amazing ball room in the house for our wedding breakfast. They really make you feel like it is your home for the weekend, and I can’t stress how much that enhanced our enjoyment of our wedding. The bridal suite and guest bedrooms are all beautifully decorated, spacious and have amazing views of the countryside.

There is nothing prescriptive about how they want you to have your wedding at all and you can conjure up as many ideas as you like and they will be able to recommend a supplier to make it a reality. Their list of preferred suppliers is fantastic and they all work exceptionally well together making the build up to the day and the day itself completely free of stress so you can get on with enjoying yourself.

I can’t see any way anyone could not have their best possible wedding if they choose Birdsall House.

I always feel extremely lucky when I’m booked to photograph weddings at Birdsall House. The house is beyond beautiful with each room offering a different unique charm and atmosphere and the grounds are just breathtaking. Everywhere you look there is inspiration for the most beautiful photographs. The team there are incredibly helpful, kind and most importantly bubbly and friendly. Nothing is ever too much for them and they go above and beyond to make sure everyone has the perfect day. There are few better settings for a wedding in the countryside - for photographers like me, who loves natural and beautiful settings to work in, it's perfect. I would recommend this beautiful venue to anyone.

I recently had my wedding at Birdsall House and it was the most perfect venue in every way! Cara and Becky who coordinate all of the weddings were second to none and so accommodating all the way through. We had our wedding in a marquee, on the grounds, in front of the house and next to the old church ruins, which was so picturesque! Fab for photos! I cannot sing their praises enough, no ask was too much and everything was made easy and simple! I would strongly recommend them if you are looking for a gorgeous English wedding with the option to be either inside or outside of a beautiful house with a stunning backdrop.

Where do I begin with Birdsall House, it is a home from home, where you are greeted with similes, a biscuit and cup of tea. Our whole wedding planning process was stress free thanks to Birdsall, they were so helpful and supportive with everything.
When it came to the big day they shined even brighter with how seamless the day flowed, the subtle finishing touches and how the Birdsall charm helped elevate the day.
My husband and I highly recommend this venue. It has character, charm, does not feel heavily commercialised and is one of a kind. Thank you Birdsall for everything.

I’ve photographer three weddings at Birdsall House now. As a local photographer in the Malton area I can recommend this venue it is one of my top 5 venues to work with.

Not only is Birdsall House Weddings, sat in the most idillic of places in North Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Wolds giving endless photo opportunity in every direction. The venue also boasts the stone folly/temple, a lake, the ruins, along with the rolling hills and well kept gardens where you can choose to erect a marquee for the evening events. I forgot the mention, the estate also has it’s own church and is too licensed for weddings within the main house.

It’s grand exterior is impressive and offers the wow factor when guests arrive. I love view of the house as you walk down the drive towards it. It makes the most fabulous area for canapés, welcome drinks and listening to live music, whilst also offering enough room for garden lawn games.

Inside the building the light is magical with the property offering huge windows from all angles. There’s always chance for creative shots in the dining hall during the speeches and the reception. Plus the house is both cool in summer and cosy in the winter months, where they light the abundance of dancing fires to add an ambient atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

The team running the house are so welcoming and friendly, the family who live onsite are also very involved, running the events and affairs happening within their home with their team. If you’re looking for a wedding venue in Yorkshire you should definitely take a look at Birdsall House!

We had our wedding at Birdsall House earlier this summer and I cannot recommend it enough! Everything was absolutely fantastic! It’s a beautiful house set in private grounds and enough bedrooms to sleep immediate family. There is also a church onsite or multiple locations for a civil ceremony inside or outside in the stunning ruins - making it the perfect weekend wedding venue. We are so so pleased with our photos. It was a pleasure working with Becky (the wedding coordinator) and Lady Cara over the last 2 years making everything easy, coordinating with our suppliers and navigating the ever changing Covid rules. They were always quick to reply and had great suggestions of local suppliers. Nothing was too much for the Birdsall team - they even organised a last minute manicure for the day before the wedding when I was unexpectedly let down. Exceptional service!! On the morning of the wedding itself, nothing was too much trouble and Lady Cara and Becky were always one step ahead taking care of all the organisation.
A massive thanks from us and I cannot recommend this venue more highly.
