Went in for a cup of tea and pasty, told to queue at the hot food counter even though there were only a few in front in the other queue. Did as asked, another woman pushed in front who they served. Meanwhile other queue is getting bigger. Finally got to the front and was rudely told to join the other queue which now had more than ten in line. Left feeling humiliated and judged. If we'd been allowed to stay in the first queue we would've been served. Disgusting service.

You can't beat a birds Caramel Donut, or as my Grandad called them an Elephants foot.

You are paying more then other high street stores offering similar. But you get a far superior product. The sausage rolls, the potted beef, little jam tarts or a hot pork and stuffing cob.

Kind of legendary in Derby, mainly due to their range of fresh cream cakes which are excellent and their freshly baked bread, potted beef and pork pies, which are also excellent.

They also sell a selection of sausage rolls and slices, like Gregg's, unfortunately like Gregg's they're not that great as it's pot luck wether it'll be warm or not.

The sausage, stuffing and apple sauce cobs are really nice though and I'd recommend them over anything else.

Staff are a bit hit and miss too, sometimes friendly and talkative, sometimes quite rude and short tempered.

To be honest with the abundance of places to eat in Derby you won't be missing out if you don't visit.

Day out in derby, where we found everyone to be extremely friendly - except in birds. Although the pastry’s were lovely, the staff served us and didn’t make it clear that there were two serving stations depending if you wanted to eat in / out. We then went to sit at the tables and one of the staff very rudely said we couldn’t sit there and needed to leave - even though we just brought their pastry’s!! Would not return
