The room has an unpleasant smell. The wait for food was an hour and including me, there were only 9 people in the restaurant. The food and service was appalling. The waiter did not seem to understand that the whole dining experience was bad. When I asked to order ice cream, he said we only have 1 scoop of vanilla and did not volunteer any alternatives or even apologise. I am sure there are much better places to stay and eat in Reading, I do not recommend staying here

Nice hotel, but the room have seen a better days. Old hotel. The staff is excellent and friendly. Kitchen staff is also very helpful and friendly. Bed sheets and towels are very clean. Downside-no fridge in the room.

Rooms very basic and in need of a refurb. No bedside lights or means to contact reception. Very small shower room .|Room was serviced but dirty cups and glasses left . |Breakfast was serve yourself but the food was ok . |Real shame as this hotel used to be really nice.

I used to stay here quite a bit before the hotel was closed and used in different ways but has now been reopened and I am pleased to see it back in business. I normally stay here if I’m late at work and you can guarantee a comfortable room, good shower, Nice food in the restaurant and a cosy bar as well as welcome in staff. Lovely breakfast this morning – delicious and hot. All in all, nice simple unpretentious and comfortable place to stay.

Excellent customer service Saturday afternoon Sunday morning at the front desk.||He was very kind & thoughtful.||Our room was clean & tidy and spacious.||Would really recommend this hotel. ||Hairdryer was very handy Thankyou. ||The bed was very comfortable & had a great nights sleep. ||☺️

Absolutely fantastic stay, the fantastic member of staff, Marion and Keela were fantastic hosts, polite, well versed it the products they served, kind and considerate.|The breakfast was particularly good and of excellent quality.|Convenient, absolutely amazing staff (Jade) and a great stay.

Terrible experience this hotel used to have be open to anyone passing through to use the bar area although since reopening this had changed ||||Seems they got to used to taking millions a year from government contracts meaning to us public even passing through our money is no longer good enough ||||Avoid at all costs and use an independent hotel
