Hospitable host, fantastic cherries, about 20 kg picked this Monday. Friends and family had half.
We have made cherry brandy, brandied cherries, cherry jam, dried cherries and cherry frangipani, ( cherries great, frangipani needs some development). Lots left to eat and a good few pipped and bagged and in the freezer for later.
Easy to pick trees. A great experience and we will be booking another tree for next year.
Only negative is the purple stained hands and cherry splattered kitchen wall from pipping them. I will wear gloves next time and pip in old clothes in the garden.

We went to pick our cherries from our rented tree. Mark was there to show us our tree and was very welcoming. The trees are short enough that no ladder was needed!

I rented a cherry tree and had a great day out in the sunshine with my friends picking the cherries. Bentinck Farm do a fruit tree rental scheme so I rented a cherry tree as a present for a couple of friends. Mark from Bentinck e-mailed me a certificate for the tree and also kept me informed of how the yield was doing and also timings if we wanted to come to see the orchard during cherry blossom season as well as when the tree was ready to pick. The day we came to pick was lovely and hot and we made a day of it with a picnic. Mark was on the farm too and popped by to see how we were doing and was very friendly. It was a fun day out and we ended up with a decent haul of cherries too.
