As always, a great breakfast, pleasant staff, always helpful however was extremely disappointed that Janette is no longer at reception desk, greeting customers. To myself and friends Janette has always been the smiling, cheerful face that has always greeted us for many years. We would love to see Janette back on reception, not the same place without her on the desk

Amazing food, nice Staff and nice decoration/environment. I recommend coming here 100%, there is a bit of a wait time but that's because it's busy. Will come again!

Absolutely lovely place, cafe lovely and view spectacular. The only thing I'd say are the disabled parking bays are really poor designed. They have 4 parked end to end if they parked side by side in a more traditional way you'd have more spaces. I myself had to park to far away and I saw at least two people with walking issues stood outside waiting for someone to bring the car down from the car park. A fresh lick of paint could rectify this small issue

Had a very nice lunch here today. Slight delay in getting served after giving our order. But once it came we all enjoyed it. Unless you have a big appetite would recommend having the small option which is on offer on many of the meals. My daughter in law and myself had the ham, egg, and chips. Plenty of ham and chips. The ham was really good .

Very busy on Wednesday lunch with 30 minute wait for the food ordered to arrive, which we were told about. Good service, although some were rushing due to the busy-ness. Nicely varied menu which we enjoyed our choices from. It it quite noisy due to the numbers eating and the solid floor. We finished and managed to buy a good card from the garden centre. Nice place for a meal, if you can find a quieter time.

Lovely, garden centre and family friendly restaurant. Eaten here a couple of times over the recent weekend. My grandson told staff it's the best restaurant he's been to, I won't disagree with him ✨👍✨

Popped in for coffee and slice of cake today, thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff friendly and thoroughly professional. Never had a bad experience here

Firstly thank you for affirming my opinion that the owners have a bad attitude towards their customers, given the cash cow machine not being able to take constructive criticism and respond in a positive way says it all! I openly gave a compliment to every other staff engagement and your response is almost laughable! My review is accurate from “my”perspective (retailed myself in a senior position running multi site multi million pound budgets for over 30 years) Enough life is wasted here on deaf ears I feel, but once again thank you for your solid affirmations to my points.

Living quite locally to this place (within a 2 minute walk) we have been many times over the years, a few years ago the business was taken over I understand by some senior Tesco retired executive (as I understand) and have been many time since the takeover to be able to justify my feedback on this place. My wife likes to amble round looking at everything whilst I look at tools & plants. What I have noticed over the years is that the focus becomes less and less about plants and more about high priced cheap Chinese goods for each seasonal event, & brick-a-brac. Obviously a professional retailer set-up (not your local friendly garden centre as it once was). Nowadays the focus is on the cafe (Some would say restaurant) where layout is nice given the natural view over the Lake District and fully understand why they would push this area of the business. This is clearly a money machine given the high price and poor quality of some of the plants, goods & food. The sausage and some cake selections are what I shall mention given we live in an area renowned for its sausage and home produced goods. I cannot understand why such a cheap sausage is selected for the Breakfast and Brunch items, texture is fine but there is a definite aftertaste that I personally find horrible. My cake after wasn't any better, £4.50 for some tasteless cake that was overlaid with huge quantities of icing probably 4/5mm thick, again I would suggest cheap ingredients given tasting the cake without icing was no better for the flavours. I did note on my last visit that quite a few people leave food on there plates and if this was my business I would trigger the staff to question why, feedback and more proactive steps could then be made to improve some areas even if it effects profits slightly. Each time we have gone to Bay View I have found 90% of staff interaction/s absolutely brilliant, the 10% was a poor interaction with the owner/site manager 2 years ago but as the staff have been so good everywhere else I'll forgive that. To finish I have eaten here many times and some items are very good, I would guess the owner has never sat and tasted there own menu items or if they have they have they have made purely commercial decisions. One or two tweaks would change this place from an average meal to a good one, places that charge high prices and provide poor quality eventually wain in popularity. Looking at the Google feedback as professional marketers feedback is so poor it should be noted by all. This is no longer a garden centre but a cafe destination with a few plants, the name should be named Bay View Cafe & Plant Centre at best! (the picture is from my house as it overlooks the garden centre, you can just see the industrial roof tops).
