Not sure why there's bad reviews. Doug was very polite and pleasant with me and my partner.
The meat was great value and brilliant produce. He even threw us in a free taster of some ham! In my opinion, Doug is a dying breed of proper English butchers! They are now a rare sighting on our streets but I'm glad he's there to go to for proper meat instead of getting ill from the likes of Asda or Tesco meats.

Always have such bad luck here. Once never had any steak in stock (weekday afternoon) give it another try, no ribs in stock, again hopefully 3rd time lucky….closed

Looks like they forgot to pay for the electricity. Nobody to attend for a long while, i could've just take something and walk away unnoticed. Dark, dull, even electric fly killer was off. Flies swarming over the "fresh", uncovered meat. Wanted to buy some meat for my dog, but I could seriously put his health (perhaps life) in danger! This should be looked into!

Last time I went to your shop I was a little surprised how expensive the meat was but it was very nice so today I thought it treat us to some good quality meat, but today when I walked in the butcher was doing something in the middle of the shop.
He see me walk in and said nothing, then carried on with what he was doing and when he had finished he walked up to the back of the shop!!!
I just walked out so that another £30-£40 pound you lost because a simple hello or I won’t be a minute but no!
How rude I hope you treat your regulars with more respect.

Great service, great deals, fantastic fresh meat, always tasty. Always willing to give advice & cooking instructions. Friendly service. They run a saving club which is great for things like x-mas or other big events you might be cooking for. They often have raffles with some great meat bundles. Worth a visit

We bought a leg of lamb from the butcher on Wednesday, 3kg for 30 quid... best lamb we ever tasted, fed 5 people with a slow cooked Greek lamb and still have half and a shank to enjoy!! Lamb was boned and diced as requested.. fantastic butcher x

Started to use this butchers two weeks ago, so far I have had steaks, pork chops, steak and kidney pies and a joint of beef. I am very picky over my meat and I feel it only right to tell the world and it,s Granny this has been the best meat that I have eaten since God was a baby. Well Done.
