A great afternoon's brewery tour at Arkell's in Swindon. Phil was an engaging guide; forty years of experience enabled him to outline the 180+ years history of the company and explain the brewing processes as we progressed around the historic buildings. We saw the machinery - much of which is still in daily use. And of course a chance to sample some of their excellent beers and then buy some bottles. There is also a wide selection of wines and spirits in the Grape & Grain warehouse 'off license' - which I now know is open to the public, so we can call in when necessary.

We had a great tour of this historic brewery, one of the few remaining tower breweries in the country. Our guide, Phil, was a fount of knowledge on local history and on all things beer and brewing. It was refreshing to witness the infectious passion all the staff have for this 180 year old business now run by the sixth generation of the founding family. Definitely worth visiting if you are in or passing Swindon (only a couple of minutes from the A419).

We had a great afternoon at the Kingsdown Brewery. The tour was really interesting, a real education of the making of beer, the business it’s self and the community throughout the generations. We saw the most amazing buildings and equipment and sampled the beer!
Thoroughly recommend especially to beer lovers and locals.

Amazing tour of the brewery with Phil. A behind the scenes glimpse of the brewery in action, really knowledgeable guide who could answer any question. Obviously brilliant tasters at the end too. Wednesday afternoons for the rest of 2023, get in there before they stop doing tours again! Can’t recommend highly enough.

Fantastic day out! We did the brewery tour of Arkells at the end of December. Our tour guide Phil was very knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. His stories and facts really brought the tour to life.

It is incredible how much history there is in this brewery and business and it was fascinating to see it up close after driving past the brewery regularly for so many years without actually going inside to see it.

As brewery tours go, this one is unique given you really do get to go and see where the beer is made and see behind the scenes. Often, during more modern brewery tours, you don't the chance to see the process so up close. The history, charm and beauty of this Victorian steam brewery is more than worth a visit. 5 stars and thank you!

The beer tasting at the end was also great, with lots of choice and generous servings!

We were lucky enough to tour the brewery last Wednesday we had a great visit. we were surprised that the brewery was still family owned and run. We had a great tour with Phil who has been at the brewery man and boy his obvious enthusiasm was infectious. The brewery recently celebrated its 180th birthday and has resisted change still brewing the traditional way. We got to pull a few pints ourselves which not only was a great experience but tasted great as well.
In summary a very historical, informative and enjoyable afternoon thanks to all the team who made us so welcome and the experience such fun.

I have just been on the tour of the brewery today with my dad. Phil the guide was amazing and gave us lots of information and he has worked there for many years so really knows his stuff. I would recommend this tour to anyone. It finishes with a lovely refreshing drink to sample the cask ale. 5 stars in my eyes. They also have a shop on site which is open 9 - 5pm Monday - Friday with a good selection of the ales as well as wines. Always worth popping in there as well.

I have just taken The Highworth & District Probus Club members on a guided tour of Arkells Brewery. The members really enjoyed the experience and the Brewery cold not have been better hosts. I would recommend anyone interested to book a tour up with them. The explanations were excellent and are amazed that it is still a family run business. Well done Arkells and the beer was also superb! Many thanks from oue members.
