My elderly and vulnerable relative paid several thousand pounds for a firm to write a 'Lifetime Trust' document and a new Will, having been told that she would save IHT by doing so. After researching IHT rules and obtaining advice from a STEP Solicitor, the Trust was revealed to be invalid. ( Possibly fraudulent) . Alex Stanier gave myself and my step mother critical advice in confirming that advice and in helping to obtain a refund of the money my relative had paid. He was also very supportive and understanding.
