So, me and my buddies were all at my apartment (I live in California) and one of my buddies is Scottish and he always goes on about his hometown drink. He said "most call it IRN-BRU".... "but I call it "The pride of the north" ...he really doesn't shut up about it and he said he'd get some for us to try.

So yeah anyway, he came around to my house and I was just sitting on the porch sitting with my dog and he pulls out a 8 pack of this fizzy orange liquid from his rucksack.. He said "HERE, try this!!" ...I thought it would be orange Soda.

I SWEAR TO YOU.... After one single sip of it and I do mean, A SIP!! I instantly turned my head and said to my Scottish friend out of nowhere:

"A WIS LIT THAT, PURE MAD HINGIN OOT THE BACK EH YER GRANNY LIT ATT, YASS"

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!!

I had never tasted Irn Bru until I moved to Scotland 15 years ago and have drank nothing else since. But now you have totally ruined the best drink I have ever had. I don't understand why you could not do what they have done with coke and pepsi and charge more or reduce the size. I mean its not like you did not have alternatives such as diet and extra for all the sugar freaks. I have never heard so many people slag Barrs as I do nowadays. So much for it being a scottish drink when it all has to change due to people like Jamie Oliver who is also not Scottish but you are happy to act on there views and the pathetic governments who thought a sugar tax would be a great idea. Your new recipe is totally rotten and also all your flavours as these have changed too. If you would reconsider and bring back our Irn Bru and get rid of that awful sweetner I would be so proud of the fact that you have listened to the people as that is what keeps your business going. You may think its not affecting your turnover but that's maybe because there is still some of the old recipe out there and when its no longer available and you want the people of Scotland to buy your products to keep your business going I hope everybody turns there back on you the way you have us. BRING BACK OUR OLD RECIPE AND DROP THAT AWFUL SWEETNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The decision to change the recipe is single handedly one of the worst business decisions I've came across. Even worse than when Coca-Cola changed their recipe at least their board of directors had the business acumen to revert back to the original recipe. And to add to that the new version tastes utterly disgusting. Loaded with artificial sweeteners. They make out the reason for the change was a concern for public health and the sugar tax; yet then go on to launch an energy drink with over 40 grams of sugar per 330ml can, far more than the original bru. Utterly hypocritical profiteering hoping their loyal customers wouldn't notice the change in recipe. Instead their share price and revenue has plunged YTD. They got their just deserts in the end.

Not even worthy of one star now. Bring back full sugar options on your soft drinks as nobody likes new Irn Bru . Enerzaid and Paisley Drinks company now get my custom. You won't listen to what the public want even though your sales are suffering. 1901 was a poor excuse for original Irn Bru that went flat quickly and what happened to Tizer ? A company sadly ruined by incompetence in senior management.

Since the recipe change Irn Bru tastes awful.
Plenty of options there for people who want no or less sugar. Why punish everyone else?
Poor from Barr.
Hope you see sense and go back to the original and best recipe and stop trying to push rubbish bad artificial sweeteners on us all.
