Liked: This was our first holiday to the Isle of Wight and just Wow! The site was easy to find, the owner met us on arrival and gave us all the information we needed about facilities for our stay. Simple camping field with pitches lined up along the hedgerow with stunning views across the hills. Toilet and shower facilities were good and cleanliness maintained whilst we were here. Showers are 50p but I found that lasted a good amount of time and temperature was perfect every time! Small play area for the kids but they absolutely loved it and spent a lot of time there. The 9am tractor ride to feed the farm animals was a lovely surprise, the kids really enjoyed doing this every day and we appreciated the 30mins of peace it provided.

The campsite is in a truly beautiful location, short walk to the beach or if you need a dog friendly beach it's about 20 mins walk along the coastal path. Overall this provided the perfect base for us to explore the island and we cannot wait to return. We camp a lot and this was the first time my husband and I said we weren't ready to leave!

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Lovely farm, loads of large flat pitches which are well spaced out, really friendly people, clean facilities, little play area and lots of space for kids to run about. Great for all types of campers/families young and old.
Kids enjoyed a tractor ride round the field to see the animals in the morning.
Great location close to ferry (Yarmouth) and loads of beaches/attractions a short drive away

Liked: A beautiful well-kept field with lovely toilets and showers and really authentic rustic charm. I particularly liked seeing the animals on the farm. Also, the beach is a short walk away and is lovely and peaceful because it’s quite difficult to access. You need to be careful going down the steps, but I managed it fine.

Liked: Just spent 2 nights here with the children, really really happy with the hosts interaction with all of the children on site, the animals were loved by us all, Ann was a fantastic host. Tractor trailer ride this morning was a highlight. Pitch size was plentyful. Facilities are exactly what's needed and kept clean. Really good access to local walks, views were spectacular! Out daughter was very upset we had to leave. We will be back very soon

As a location this place is immaculate. Right next to Compton beach (sandy and with ok waves if you get the tide right)

The facilities for the kids are also excellent - tractor rides to feed the animals, a ‘plodge’ (covered area to chill), and animals including turkeys roaming around

So why the 2 star review…? The price considering the facilities is absolutely outrageous… £17.50 per adult, and from what I’ve been told that’s regardless of whether you’re in a camper van or a tent. Sounds ok if the facilities are decent and free, but there’s effectively 2 toilets and 2 showers for each sex servicing the entire site… and to make it worse the showers are 50p a go.

We stay at a lot of sites in the van, and consider that this site has the potential to be excellent! Just upgrade your facilities to match the price point, or alternatively bring your prices down in line with the facility offering

Liked: peaceful, spacious, quiet, clean, easy to get to. Lots of amenities, great location

Disliked: showers required 50p, dispite the fair priced cost of staying one night
