The Atkinson is a lovely place to visit, and features a museum, aswell as the art gallery, library and theatre. The staff are friendly and helpful; there is a gift shop and cafe and plenty of space to take your time and study what is on display. Currently there is a Lord of the rings exhibition and the gallery is showcasing artwork which hasn’t been seen in over 100 years, and they are displaying it in the old traditional way of cramming as many paintings in one room, this is not there usual way of displaying things, but just a respect for the way it once was in the Atkinson of old. It’s really nice and it features my favourite painting of all times ‘John collier’s Lilith’ which is breathtaking. So many beautiful pieces of art on display. It is free to visit. There is also a lovely little teddy bear display, of which you can adopt one, and receive updates from your teddy bear, which is a lovely idea for youngsters and a great way to donate to the Atkinson and keep this wonderful Southport attraction going.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Sleeping Beauty at The Atkinson! The show was hilarious, fantastic performances, and plenty of audience interaction – perfect for all ages. The cast was brilliant, the costumes and sets were stunning, and the whole production was full of energy and fun.

The staff at The Atkinson were so friendly and helpful, making the whole day run smoothly. Extra thanks to everyone behind the scenes who made it all happen – you can tell a lot of hard work went into it!

The venue itself was lovely, with comfy seating and great sound from the live band, and we were really impressed with how reasonably priced the food and drinks were.

Huge thanks to everyone involved for putting on such a magical show. We’ll definitely be back!

Our go to Theatre these days. The eightys night was rocking and last night's soul spectacular was unmissable. Great staff and the layout of the seating is spot on for us shorties. Parking after 6pm on the meters is free as well.

Stunning sculptured paper display in the Exhibition area. Such talent cumulating in a cardboard replica of a Lancaster Bomber cabin and fuselage. Brilliant and moving. Go now before the exhibition ends.
