I stayed in carriage 1 and it really was such a perfect stay. The carriage is well equipped and very comfortable with beautiful views. The whole property is just lovely and you can tell that so much care and thought has gone into everything. Ideally located for lovely walks as well as 15 minutes to central Newcastle, it really is the heat of both!

Carriage no.2 was beautiful and toasty even in the beginning of December! Scenery is amazing and Deb the host is warm and welcoming. I’d highly recommend a stay in any season!! Thank you Deb 🙏🏾

I stayed in Gardener's Cottage at Lockhaugh Farm and it truly could not have been more fantastic. The views, the furnishings, the farm vibe, the river, the nearby pubs, the wildlife... everything added up to a truly mystical stay. Deb could not have been more kind or organized. I truly enjoyed meeting her. It's very special in this world to meet people who put so much love into creating sanctuary spaces like this. If you're wondering whether to book, let this be your sign - do it!!!!

Lockhaugh Farm is a great location, with amazing walks on your doorstep to exploring Newcastle and the surrounding countryside and coastline, it's a perfect spot. I've visited many times with stays in the carriages (which are cosy and full of lovely, thoughtful touches.. and have amazing uninterrupted views across the valley) and attending one of Deb's yoga and walking brunches. Deb is a great hostess. Living at Lockhaugh Farm she's at hand when you need her but never intrusive. Highly recommended!

The location is one of the most peaceful and inspiring ones we have ever come across.

Sweeping views over the Derwent Valley, red kits, roaming chickens, rainbows!

The Stable house is private, quiet, and it feels like you are in a world of your own. We have not slept so well for months. The accommodation is tastefully decorated, the beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is modern and spacious. The large patio doors let the beautiful countryside in and there is private outdoor space as well as the many country and river walks nearby. Our host was gracious and welcoming. We could not have wanted for a better stay. Thank You.

We stayed in carriage no1 and had a really memorable time. The carriage was well equipped for all our needs and the little portable heater made it really cosey on the chilly evenings.
The bed was really comfy and the linen felt brand new.
The outside space was secluded and great for some evening star gazing.
It was very quiet and peaceful and a great location to relax and unwind.
There are numerous walks nearby, some beginning right outside the farm itself and the Derwent valley park is well worth a visit.

I stayed at Locklaugh as part of a writing retreat through New Writing North. The farm was easy to find on Google Maps and my journey there from Manchester was smooth. On Arrival, I was so impressed with how deeply immersed in nature I was, yet so close to the local village and amenities. Locklaugh farm feels like an invitation to disconnect from the fast-paced grind of life. It is a peaceful stay in nature without compromising on comfort or luxury. I stayed in the farmhouse with two fellow poets, and we spent the weekend enjoying the incredible trails on our doorstep, the sweeping valley views, and statue of the powerful woman ringing her liberty bell from the trees. The house was warm, the bed was incredibly comfortable with excellent pillows and duvet. The shower had incredible pressure! We have everything we needed to settle down and write. It was perfect. Thank you so much for the gift Deb and all at New Writing North.

Excellent base for re-exploring the NE.
No TV in Stable Cottage which was great. Never played so many games in the evening.
Host Deborah was very quick at answering our questions and was a great host.
Would definitely recommend any of her AirBnB locations on the farm.
