ordered turf from a few places over the years and this isn’t the best quality tbh. Patchy / thin turf, and I’d say about 30% of rolls had rips / very thin areas in them.

also, they advise laying the day it’s delivered, but didn’t delivered til after 4pm, so turf was already quite dried out.

I ordered 2 tonnes of “premium” top soil and was initially really impressed, the order process was easy and delivery was quick. However, this so called premium top soil contained a dead animal, and must also have been absolutely rammed with weed seeds/roots as they have absolutely overwhelmed the only two areas where this soil was used (one brand new flower bed, and another flower bed where I sprinkled a thin layer of soil to refresh the top). I don’t have this issue in areas where the soil wasn’t used. The quarter tonne or so left in the (covered) dumpy bag is also full of weed seedlings too. There’s many different weeds come from this soil but the worst are the Black Bindweed, Knotweed and Pigweed which are all very invasive (which is the correct description, just look at the pictures of now vs before!). I emailed the company and sent a Facebook message at the beginning of May but to date have not received any response to either (now 20th June).

Overall, really disappointed and my flower beds are ruined so I couldn’t recommend using this company for top soil.

Excellent quality turf. Great price and quick delivery. First cut after 4 weeks and its so thick its like a carpet.

Cannot recommend this company highly enough! I run a landscaping company, The Jolly Gardener, and at every stage I have been impressed with this company. The phone staff are always helpful and friendly. Deliveries are on time and in good quality. The delivery men are super helpful (one chap in particular named Chris went above and beyond). And when I did have a problem the manager was quick to rectify it. 11/10

Very poor drivers in their vans and trucks. Out their road end on the old part of the a1 I've had it about 7 times where a Farnaby's driver will pull out in front of me, I'll be doing 60 or when I see they're driving up to the main road I slow and anticipate it and reduce to 50, they think nothing of making me go from 50/55/60 to 15mph and give me <100 metres to brake before crashing into them. Also extending to their arrogance, going onto the road that leads to the old Scotch Corner Hotel, bit of courtesy, if you're slow like one of their hgvs or heavy laden van stay in the left lane then pull across once you get closer, not these , straight in the right lane forcing you to stay behind them at 20 or undertake them which I refuse to do. Going to cause a bad crash the way different employees of Farnaby's choose to drive.

I decided to turf our garden and they's guys n gals were the best. As I only needed a small amount I picked it up in the car. The staff were really friendly and polite, and the quality of the turf is amazing.
