Overview: Café on Watford high street serving quality coffee, smoothies and freshly made brunch dishes.

Pros✅: One of my favourite independent brunch places and coffee shop in Watford. The coffee they serve is of high quality and a large selection of breakfast/brunch items that is made to order and are reasonable priced. Highly recommend their chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich on sourdough. Servers there are also lovely and friendly !

Cons❌: The side salad served on the side of dishes can be a little dry and could do with a bit more dressing and still have to pay 40p for oat milk but other than that I can’t think of anything !

Recommended dishes:
🥪C.B.A. (Chicken, bacon, avocado) sandwich
☕️Flat white

Ocean Bells has become my go-to spot every weekend, and for good reason! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff always greet me with a smile. The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, all of which are consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I love how they balance classic favorites with unique, creative options. It’s clear they care about quality and their customers’ experience.Highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and a welcoming vibe! My favourite branch is the smoked salmon and figs on toast with brie and chutney

Coffee reviewers will know by now I tend to seek out the independent shops rather than the large multinational corporations. Ocean Bells was all rather wonderful. I got my caffeine fix and enjoyed sampling their fabulous carrot cake.

Bright, clean town centre coffee shop staffed by laid-back, to the point of laconic, counter staff I was roundly ignored while waiting to place an order and, once I had, was invited to pay before any preparation commenced. At this point I was invited to leave a tip (suggested at up to 20%) for some reason, but declined the opportunity.

The coffee was very good even though it was served in a tumbler, making it too hot too pick up.
The food strove to be less than average. Thinking back, I must have ordered cool poorly-mixed unseasoned scrambled eggs on unbuttered bread with limp garnish; that’s certainly what I got. A smoked salmon dish looked better.

Good Wi-Fi.

Very cute and cozy atmosphere, and the Nutella Cake is to die for (not sure if they still offer it, if not, they should add it to the selection again)! Also love the Peanut Butter Mocha. The staff is very friendly and it's a great place to wind down or get some work done. Absolutely recommend!

Lovely little coffee shop on in Watford town centre, lovely staff and to die for vegan biscoff banana cake. I even sat where an scene of peep show was filmed which made me very happy indeed. Coffee has a guest coffee as well as house coffees but my personal favourite is the chai latte. They've expanded as well since my last visit which is great as there is now more seating.

The establishment provides an exceptional dining experience. The food preparation is meticulous and conducted in an open kitchen, allowing customers to witness the culinary process. The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes, each crafted with fresh ingredients and tantalizing flavors. Notably, the goat cheese and fig sandwich leaves a lasting impression on the palate. The beverage selection is equally impressive. The restaurant provides ample seating, both indoors and outdoors. Upon placing an order, customers are informed of the preparation time, and their meals are promptly delivered to their tables by courteous staff. One minor area for improvement lies in the table surfaces. While they appear to be wooden, they tend to become sticky after being wiped, resulting in an unpleasant tactile sensation and odor. It is recommended that the establishment enhance its hygiene practices in this regard, particularly with respect to the table surfaces and open sugar jars.

Lovely staff and service, good atmosphere, food and latte was presented nicely, and was served up very quickly to the table. Unfortunately the matcha used for the latte I ordered was not the best quality and had a fishy taste/smell. The vegan biscoff cake was sadly stale.
