This charming vineyard farm is nestled in the peaceful countryside of Rye, offering a truly relaxing escape. The on-site restaurant was a lovely surprise—great food, attentive service, and beautiful views that make the whole experience even more special.

The wines were delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfect for a sunny afternoon. We really enjoyed the food as well; everything we tried was full of taste. The only slight letdown was the salami & coppa dish, which felt a bit small compared to the rest, but that’s just a minor point.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend stopping here after your wine tour—or even just for a lovely meal in a serene setting. The staff were professional, welcoming, and made us feel right at home.

Absolutely loved it! 🍷✨

Fantastic stay at Tillingham. The location and accommodation is top class, it's well maintained and everything feels high end and well looked after.||The grounds, vineyard and farm which it's all set on is stunning.||We ate at the pizza restaurant first night which was good, but the main restaurant where we ate on the second night was different level. Every plate was delicious, well thought out and well-crafted.||Their own wines have a lot of character, we did the wine tour during the day which has a brilliant and funny host. This is a great opportunity to taste which wines you want to have with dinner!||We really loved our stay and would recommend 10/10. I do understand some of the other reviews on service, it is generally a bit slow but they are friendly and don't take away from the experience

Stopped by Tillingham on our way out of Rye last weekend and had a great time. We first did the wine tour at 11 - I'd probably recommend you skip this unless you're keenly interested in organic / bio wine production - I think it would be better if it was shorter and cheaper, it's pretty steep at £30 a person - 3x tastes of wine, and mostly a lecture for 90 mins in 2 spots - it overran so we had to exit early - could tell the group was struggling a bit. Lunch upstairs was delicious after, and we had a lovely server - would be keen to return to stay the night.

We stayed at Tillingham vineyard for 3 nights. The rooms are spacious, well serviced and are set up to provide a peaceful stay. No TV which we thought was an excellent idea.

On the first night we ate at the upstairs restaurant and enjoyed the 5 course garden menu with the accompanying wine flight. Every course was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. The accompanying wine was best described as interesting and well chosen. The service was friendly and prompt.

We ate downstairs in the bar and sampled all of the wines over the following two evenings. The bar meals were tasty and suited the chill ambiance of the area. The bar staff were friendly and knew their job.

We also went in the wine tour which was informative, fun and we tasted four of the wines on offer.

Breakfast was fresh, excellent eggs, the tea was loose leaf and tasty.

They even had a resident cat called Bertie who was simply gorgeous.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend this experience to others.

We came for my friends 40th and had such a lovely time. The staff were fantastic, so thoughtful friendly and helpful. The tour guide was late but they really looked after us beforehand and were so generous. We ate in the restaurant afterwards and the food is incredible, very well cooked and beautifully plated, quite small portions mind, but very tasty. The grounds are so nice, with animals around too, goats and the sweetest cat Bertie. We had a fab time, I'd highly recommend.

Tillingham's is just a wonderful place!
It was the dream location for my daughter's wedding in June 2025. We stayed over for two nights, the night before and the night of the wedding. We had the wedding breakfast in the upstairs restaurant and the evening party in the bar. We were lucky enough to have enough numbers to reserve the whole venue.

Everything was just perfect.

The rooms were spacious, very comfortable, clean and fabulously decorated. Every detail was simply spot on.

The location itself is just stunning, the views across the vineyards from the rear terrace are stunning. The grounds full of beautiful wild flowers and natural features. The pizza barn was fab - and late party night pizzas fresh from the oven certainly hit the spot.

The restaurant and food were fantastic - a very high standard. And the staff were very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.

This may sound like an over the top review - but I cannot praise the venue and staff enough.

Thank you Tillingham's for making this a few days to remember!!

The wine tour was excellent. The lady leading it was enthusiastic, well informed and welcoming - a star performer. ||The rest of our two night stay was - meh. |We did not feel welcome. There was no one to check us in. We stood there like prunes for quite a while then someone appeared at the bar so we went and asked them. They were beginning to try and book us in when the reception person appeared and apologised for their absence - not to us but to the bar person!|Our room (the dreaded no WiFi room 7) was ok, comfortable enough, pretty view. But the lack of care/attention to detail and poor service made us feel unloved. |* No WiFi|* Two towels and one hand towel between us - no hair towel for me felt cheapskate. |* Towels not changed by the cleaner. That might have been ok but it was not ok to just hang up a soaking and dirty bath mat on the shower door and leave a wet and obviously dirty flannel on the basin. |* The basin had layer of mould/dirt round the plughole and the drain was blocked|* No tea in rooms - so we took a pot across from the bar in the evening. The next day the cleaner had left the dirty tea pot, milk bottle and cups together with the wine glasses and decanter from the wine taster in the room all piled up together on the dressing table. This is disgraceful. Presumably they will stay there until the next occupant finally disposes of them. |* Our water glasses left still full of dregs not cleaned or emptied. |Servicing the rooms is minimal in this hotel. It doesn’t fit with the boutique hotel they claim to be. |*My daughter had paid for the 5 course garden menu for us with a wine flight. When we were handed the menu for the a la carte we told them of this and they just said oh, they were not serving that menu any more. There were hasty consultations and we were allowed to choose all the courses from the main menu with a glass of wine. It all felt a bit awkward - especially as for vegetarians there was no choice of main course. |However the food was very good. And the wine was interesting. |But again on the service point - we had pizza in the pizza bar (excellent)but when it was time to pay the waitress had just vanished. We asked the chef where she was and he said he wished he knew the answer! Although we waited in the bar, she never reappeared..|So very mixed - good food and lovely surroundings and interesting wine tour, but shoddy service and some of it - especially room cleaning - unwelcoming

Beautiful vineyard that we’ve been wanting to visit for a long time now. The tour was a great way to start our stay - lots of interesting facts and tasting as we went along. Highly recommend the restaurant too - a delicious meal.
