What's happened?! My better half and I used to love coming here for the view and cafe. Has the ownership changed or what?

Today the staff weren't friendly or organised and the prices have skyrocketed! The menu seems considerably smaller along with the portions.

First after a 15min wait for drinks our coffees were hot when we'd asked for iced. We had to tell the waitress twice before she went to replace them. When the food came out it looked small but very appetising. I had to go and ask someone to hand me some cutlery, which were still dripping wet. Of course it's down to taste and personal preference but to me the food was bland. I was surprised there are people in this world who believe black pudding should replace beans.

Overall, you can see from the picture how much food (+2 coffees) my partner and I received for roughly the same cost as our weekly food shop. I get eating out costs a hell of a lot more than it used to, especially in Kent for some reason, but I'm sorry to say we won't be coming back.

I left a glowing review of this place a year ago but unfortunately it has all changed since then. We used to love this little farm café, it was always such a quaint spot with lovely friendly staff. Sadly, it seems to have expanded (possibly changed hands) and has lost its charm. The atmosphere felt cold, staff weren’t friendly or helpful, and our order was wrong. We had to ask multiple times just to return our incorrect drinks, weren’t given any cutlery, and the menu had very few options. On top of that, it was surprisingly expensive for what we got. They claim to be dog friendly but only had a few umbrellas outside in the hot weather and didn’t appear to have any water for them. Really disappointed, especially as it used to be one of our favourite places and we were excited to make it our regular now we’re back in the area. Unfortunately we won’t be returning.

My wife ordered a fete salad and although nice cost £18.75 it looked nice but my grandson who’s 5 would of still been hungry if your on a diet and enjoy high prices for very little this is your place. Nice but definitely won’t be back.

Lovely light lunch. Really tasty - I had bacon, egg and avocado on sourdough. My Partner had homemade soup which was beautiful. Tasty coffees and friendly staff, with fab views & a log burner. Will definitely return.

Great pit stop. Fab farm shop with great produce. Fresh sausage rolls. Salads and sandwiches. Cakes looked good. Good coffee sold from silver airstream. There is a new cafe The Lodge around to the rear. Lots of indoor seating, did not eat there. Loos. The outside seating areas need some TLC. And the 'path' to the Lodge cafe was very rocky and stony.

First visit since the cafe opened. Just had a coffee. I'm really not sure why cafes list so many coffees when the flat white just looked like a normal coffee with milk!! Would be nice if cafes made more effort to produce decent coffee especially when they charge so much. Needs to be good, strong coffee or just don't bother. You have a lot of potential so please try harder.

We went for coffee this morning, first time since the coffee shop has opened, coffee was fine, but my coffee and walnut cake was a bit dry for my liking, maybe a chiller cabinet would help in the hot weather. I did like the inside of the unit, and from what I could see their cooked breakfast looks very good, well worth a visit.
