We had our first break in two years at The Calf Shed. The location is beautiful and the accommodation fabulous. This was a wonderful find. The house was really cosy with marvellous views and a welome from the hens when we ventured out in the morning. Ellen and Tom are wonderful hosts and have put a great deal of thought into the Calf Shed. Ellen had left a welcome pack including eggs, milk, butter and a vase of beautiful Sweet Peas. She was most helpful with advice on local pubs, restaurants and walks. The Calf shed is ideally located to explore with the combination of Kent Countryside and the coast. This is great walking country and we are already planning a return for a long weekend in the winter.

We stayed for 3 nights at The Calf Shed, which is a fairly new accommodation onsite at Broxhall Farm about 20-30 metres from the Glamping Experience Hut and part of the main cottage. My partner and I have never stayed in farm accommodation before, but thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It's a 15 minute drive to Canterbury for a city full of all ammenities, but was lovely to drive back and return to a quiet farm surrounded by peace and nature. There is also a pub (The Duck) nearby about a 5-10 minute walk from the farm across the fields. ||||Tom & Ellen were very welcoming. They advised about booking local tourist attractions and insisted we ask if there was anything we needed, which was very kind of them. Overall The Calf Shed was extremely clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay and more. See pictures for the welcome hamper, it included chocolate brownies, which was a bonus! - Thank you again for our stay, I am sure we will be back again. We also thoroughly recommend purchasing their own rump steaks and burgers to take home or cook there on the BBQ Pit.

We had the most incredible stay. The location is stunning and the view was amazing, you can wake up and enjoy them without even leaving your bed. Beautifully cosy and we loved the treats that were left for is. Very friendly owners, obliging too. We would love to come back.

We had a wonderful time in the Herdsman's Hut - Ellen and Tom were so welcoming and shared some wonderful insights in the local area, places to walk and visit, as well as the incredible setting the farm provides too. It's a fantastic location, with brilliant views down the valley to the renowned nearby Duck Inn. A few glorious kilometres of walking to the village of Bishopsbourne rewarded us with a delightful lunch at the Tadpole cafe, before a well-earned evening by the fire-pit and bbq that's all meticulously provided next to the hut. We loved how close the farm animals were and we'll be looking to return when we can. Thank you so much again for a wonderful stay, Ben and Emma

We had booked the Herdsman's Hut a long while ago and had to re-arranged due to Covid, so we were very excited about finally getting to Broxhall Farm. Tom & Ellen are fantastic hosts, very friendly (as were the chickens!) and helpful. The Hut is compact, had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. ||We spent two very peaceful nights at the Hut, visited one or three local pubs, the Duck Inn is a very short distance through the fields and the pubs at Bishopsbourne are a longer trek but a lovely walk. ||We sat around the fire put and cooked some delicious burgers from the farm and just enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the farm surrounded by beautiful views over the hills. ||We bought some eggs home which were delicious and I was sad when they had all gone. ||We will most definately be booking again at some point for another mini adventure. ||Sally & Andy

This unique spot is absolutely perfect for a slice of rural heaven. With easy access to Canterbury city centre, this is great for some peaceful Kentish countryside without being too far from the hustle and bustle! The Herdsman's hut has all the amenities needed and everything has been thought about. Tom and Ellen are absolutely lovely hosts and Ellen's granola is a definite try for breakfast! There is a fire pit if you're keen for a bbq, or it's a short stroll across the field to the pub. Cannot recommend enough!

I cannot praise this wonderful place on a working farm high enough! 2 days and nights staying on a working farm was incredible. Fantastic hosts Ellen and Tom were charming and laid back. If you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of real life then this is for you. We stayed in the Herdsmans Hut. Quaint and attention to detail was great. Even supplying us with fresh eggs, milk and butter. And a naught chocolate brownie which was divine. We weren't really walkers, but we tried a walk recommended by our hosts and it was just great!

This was a wonderful B & B located in the middle of the countryside but with easy access to Canterbury and the Kent coast. We were looking for a quiet weekend away and couldn't have asked for more. Ellen & Tom were extremely welcoming and friendly, and they provided the most fantastic breakfast with lots of homemade and local goodies. The Duck Inn, a short walk away is an excellent local pub and well worth a visit. Thank you for a great stay.
