This is a great little place for young children. There is lots of space and the educational talks in the animal enclosures were informative and friendly, so that even my 6yr old grandson could shout out a question. Only the gift shop and restaurant to spend money on, not rides and ice creams everywhere, which was a refreshing change and appreciated. They enjoyed the play area in the park but it was crowded.

A great place to walk around with many different enclosures. The enclosures are well presented, making it easy to see the animals in them, whilst still providing the habitat that the animals need. To explore the entire nature center and look at all the enclosures will take between 2 to 3 hours.

I went here with my partner and his mum and when we arrived the member of staff was very welcoming. As we was walking around we noticed alot of the animals were missing or there was only one animal on its own which we thought was very sad . Serval cat cage was dirty and had rotten maget dead mice and birds init. It was so horrible to me it upset us deeply and sick that a animal can be treated this way . The amount they are charging the owns should be a shamed . If the owner would like to email me it would be very happy to share my unhappy and unsettling visit.

First time going to Tilgate a few weeks ago and loved it. We took our 15 month old daughter and she had a great time. Definitely recommend.

Very impressive collection of animals. Reasonable entrance fee. Great cafe and the park itself is also lovely.

I used to come here with my family as a child and returned with my boyfriend and I’m pleased to see it’s still going strong; with even more animals it’s becoming more like a zoo!
Even with greyer weather in the late afternoon, it actually meant the nature centre was less busy and we were able to stay a little past closing time, and we still got to see all the animals - principally capybaras and the alpacas!
