Fantastic camping experience within the orchards.

This family owned cider farm and tap room is a brilliant little gem of a place. The privacy and idillic scenery that having your own row gives is great.

The selection of ciders available was phenomenal; they cater to a wide variety of tastes, my personal choice being the Old Harry and my wife always enjoys a ginger, but was quite partial to the elderflower.

The family who own the place were helpful and charming, and as a brewing hobbyist, discussions with them about the differences in the processes and recipe ideas, the passion for their craft was more than obvious.

We also met other members of the family, in the animals that can freely wander the orchard at times, and they quite often came to chill out at our tent, which was great for us as people who care for animals, but we saw them leaving other people’s tents well alone if the occupants didn’t engage with them.

Lots of adventures and activities are a short cat journey away and it’s always great to reward yourself after a day of exploring with a delicious local cider. I would fully recommend the camping as you may need a few days to unwind and try all that this place has to offer!

Nice little tour of the orchard and cider production facility, very informative, Penny gave us loads of local cider history, it was nice to see a small local producer in action, also a special mention to the plow mans lunch, lots of fresh local produce and a home made sausage roll

Where to start with this one...
What a beautiful cider orchard run by 5 family members!
A true little gem hidden in the Dorset countryside 😊
Beautiful range of ciders (recommend pink elderflower) if it's available when you go!
Would definitely recommend going on their own tour only £15 pp so relatively inexpensive.

We heard about this place from a Christmas market at the Bovington Tank Museum. After sampling some of the cider there and hearing about tours, we booked in for June. The roads leading to the orchard are very narrow and winding. Signs are present but they are quite small, so take your time on the road and give yourself plenty of time to get there. Do take them up on their advice and try to get there at least 15mins early so you can park, as spaces are a little limited.

The lady running the tour (Penny) was lovely, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about her subject and information given was very interesting and engaging. We got to try some mulled cider a perform a Wassail in the middle of the orchard! At the end of the tour we sampled several ciders: dry, mediums and sweets and also some flavoured with ginger and elderflower!

We booked in for the ploughman's lunch after the tour which is definitely worth it! Generous portion and lovely warm homemade sausage rolls!

After food we ordered some drinks from the bar. You can get a flight of ciders so you have the chance to try more varieties this place has to offer! Penny also kindly let me try some Apple Mead! Of course we then bought a bottle! 😉

Thank you for a lovely day!

Beautiful, serene, warm and knowledgeable. Highly recommend a visit to the tasting room, and if you can, go on one of the tour and tastings. 50 years of apple trees and a decade of love from the family of owners makes for flipping delicious cider. Camping is very special too, between the trees for a feeling of isolation. Great facilities and wildlife.

Such a brilliant place. The family have created a haven of traditional and artisan skill and production, set in glorious creative surroundings. Highly recomended for day out tasting cider or for one of the great events (Wassail!). We went on the Orchard Tour which was delightful, informative and fun.

A fantastic tour and tasting session today at Dorset Nectar Cider - with owner Penny showing us around.

The 90 minute session was really informative and sampling some ciders afterwards was really great too. The samples inspired our purchases a little later.

Afterwards, we each had the Cider Flight (three ciders of our choice in sample size for just £4.95).

In the sunshine, this is absolutely a perfect spot to while away a few hours. Such a lovely setting, best enjoyed with a very tasty cider in hand.

Perhaps our only disappointment of the tour was a group of late-comers, arriving with dogs, and expecting the earth to accommodate them. One of the visiting dogs was labelled ‘nervous’ and it felt like we were constantly pandering to the needs of it and its owner. They took offence to the farm’s own dog, Lily, being allowed to roam free. Personally, I think the late-comers should have been turned away and the nervous fluff ball left at home.

I should add though, Dorset Nectar Cider is entirely family owned and run, and it’s so important that businesses like this are supported.

On arrival we were greeted by Penny who owns and runs the place along with her husband and three sons. This is entirely a family run business.
It was a beautiful day and we were invited to wander through the orchard in all it's glory, so much apple blossom! Whilst we wandered Penny guided us through the history and cider making process. We sampled some mulled cider as we practiced our Wassailing and ended up in the bottling barn. Then the tasting! We sat outside and were invited to sample four different ciders, all delicious, plus a cider vinegar... an acquired taste I think 😋.
The tap room was open so you could indulge in your favourite and the shop for purchases to take away.
A wonderful experience all round.
