Lovely place, so many beautiful plants, lots that you don't see elsewhere, downside is a few aren't labelled up and many don't have prices on which makes it a lottery at the till (cash only) but the owner drives a great bargain and is extremely knowledgeable albeit it a tad scary at first, he's just happy to talk about his plants so don't be afraid to ask!

If you are a plant lover and appreciate something a little unusual, this is a must visit. The owner is always on site and he is a nurseryman not a shop assistant. Don't expect a garden centre in neat lines of mass produced bedding plants or accessories but revel in taking a plant home that has been lovingly reared and take on board the knowledge that comes free.

Brilliant garden centre and Phil is a tad eccentric but so what! He says it how it is and I like that ! He has excellent knowledge on plants.i could spend all day at his place.Got some fabulous tropicals. Cant wait while spring to visit and see what I can bring home....in the van.

An unusual nursery with a great selection of plants. The majority grown on by the owner so hardy and ready to plant in a local garden. This is probably the reason for the lack of labels. Plenty of choice including a great variety of Agave and other succulents. Not a garden centre and no onsite cafe just plants for the enthousiast. Highly recommend.

If I could put a 0 I would do. Myself my grandmother and my daughter visited here just for a look around. No sooner than I stepped out of my car I got a look up and down and asked for what I wanted. I asked for a standard rose and some stone pots both of which Phil said he didn't sell. My grandmother asked if he used to supply plants at a shop at the stag and he went off on a tangent about a completely different place calling them names and profanities. All in front of my 19 month old daughter. He then asked us what we would ask for if we wanted climbing plants (we didnt) he pointed at myself (I'm 21 but do look younger) and said even you will know what a climbing plant it. All through this off putting conversation he was eating some sort of fruit pie and spitting it at us. As we looked around plants were dead and you couldn't see anything as it was all on the floor. If you wanted to look around take you're wellies because it's very boggy. Won't be going here again and as we were leaving Phil came with a book to extend our knowledge further on climbing plants we didn't want. Disgusting behaviour I understand the passion but I felt so uncomfortable.

This is plant nursery heaven for gardeners who love plants: a plant nursery the like of which you will not find anywhere else; owned and run by someone whose passion in life is plants. Everything here is in pots & raised or has spent some time on site, so you can be sure they’ll survive in your garden. Don’t be put off by the lack of plant labels; just ask for help and advice. Go in the week outside peak hours, show some interest and enthusiasm and Phil will spend as long as it takes to find what you need. Time stood still when I visited; it wasn’t until I left I realised I’d been there over 2 and a half hours and Phil had spent the better part of 2 hours with me, suggesting plants, bringing them out onto the grass to see what they looked like together for colour, texture, potential height, etc. And price? Much less than you’d pay in a garden centre. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
