We had our wedding at Dovecote Barn and genuinely couldn’t recommend it more highly.

From our very first visit back in December, we knew it was the perfect venue for our small, intimate celebration. The entire team made us feel so welcome and cared for throughout the whole process — nothing was ever too much trouble.

On the day itself, everything ran seamlessly. Lauren was amazing at keeping me calm and ensuring everything flowed perfectly from start to finish. The food was absolutely outstanding and received non-stop compliments from our guests — it truly exceeded all expectations.

What really stood out was how personal and effortless everything felt. The team helped with everything — from setting up our decorations, to keeping the pianist a surprise for my husband, and making sure every guest was looked after. It never felt like a production — it felt like we were surrounded by friends.

As a self-confessed control freak, I was blown away by how smoothly and professionally everything was handled — even the smallest details, like laying out the breakfast table. I had such a clear vision for how I wanted it all to look, having made all the decorations myself, and somehow they still managed to surpass my expectations.

Mel and Matthew have built a phenomenal team who are a real credit to them. We’re so grateful for the part Dovecote Barn played in making our day so special — and we’re already looking for an excuse to come back, hopefully to celebrate an anniversary in the future.

If you’re considering Dovecote Barn for your wedding or event, don’t hesitate — you’ll be in the very best hands.

Dovecote Events, in its entirety (location, atmosphere, preparation, organisation, setting, staff, food, drinks), was absolute perfection as a wedding venue for us.
We were looking for a ‘festival style’ wedding venue, and it was everything and more. Our guests have not stopped saying that it’s the best wedding they’ve ever been to. The staff (Cece & Lauren you ABSOLUTE LEGENDS) could not do more for you and the support leading up to the day and on the day was outstanding.
I wish we could do the day over and over again.

We knew from the moment we first visited Dovecote that this was the venue for us, everyone in the team was so chilled and friendly that we felt completely at home there. Nothing was too much trouble and you were always happy to answer questions, make suggestions, etc where needed.

Special mention to the food as well, from the canapés to the bbq main meal, all of our guests commented on how good the food was and we certainly loved it! (The burgers were amazing!)

We’re so happy with how our day went and how stress free the planning process was with you and the team.

The barn and the setting was so beautiful and you did an amazing job turning it all around for each stage of the day - the new upgrades to the bar area and the garden make the venue even better!

Thanks again for all of your help and we hope that we get to visit again one day.

We cannot fault a single aspect of our day from the moment we arrived at Dovecote, to the moment we left - in fact, from the moment we walked in to our first Open Day Event 2 years ago!! The team were faultless from start to finish. Not only did we have the most stunning venue, but we were blessed with the best team as well! Dovecote was the only venue we looked at, because right from the first moment we set eyes on it, we knew it was the venue we wanted - from then on we have been on the most magical wedding journey - from our food tasting to our final meeting, the attention to detail was phenomenal.

Cece is incredible. We are so very glad that we were lucky enough to have her as our wedding coordinator and to have her there from the beginning of our journey all the way up to the evening of our wedding was very special! On the wedding day Cece was round every corner, ensuring that everything ran smoothly - constantly checking in and making sure we were alright, well fed and always with a drink in our hand!

The whole team on the setting up day and the wedding day itself were all amazing. Absolutely everyone was smiling, on hand and nothing was too much - whether I was asking for the heating to be turned down, turned on, for tables to be moved... nothing was too much! It is clear that between them they have created a wonderful working family and it really shows!

We are gutted that our wedding journey has come to an end, although VERY excited to start married life - it just means no more visits to Dovecote 🙁 Although we hope to attend someone else's wedding in the future! We cannot recommend Dovecote enough and will continue to sing their praises to anyone and everyone!

A HUGE thank you to Dovecote Events and all your team for making our Yr11 Prom so successful and so memorable for our students - they loved it... There is such a 'wow' factor to the venue and especially the Barn. So many clean plates, despite being 'on show' in their best outfits, demonstrates how delicious the food was. I also had extremely complimentary comments about the mocktails and canapes - not least from the staff who popped in!
Every little detail was thought about and taken care of without fuss or hassle, so thank you all again for putting on such a brilliant event.

I cannot recommend Dovecote enough! We had the most magical wedding day and want to do it all over again! The wedding coordinator Mel was amazing - so helpful & knowledgeable. She kept in touch from Day 1 and was quick to respond to any questions we had and to offer advice or suggestions on how things had been done before. She worked with all our suppliers to make sure everything was set up on time and people were in the right place at the right time. The whole team are amazing and couldn't have been more friendly or helpful on the day. We have had so many comments about how nice all the staff were. We have had so many compliments on the food and honestly, it's one of the reasons we went with Dovecote as a venue. We both love food and wanted to be able to offer tasty but not your 'standard wedding food' to our guests and the team absolutely delivered! If I wasn't the bride and having to be in every photo, I could have easily devoured a plate of canapes to myself. But, the main reason we chose Dovecote was the venue itself - it's beautiful. It is so versatile and there are so many different photo locations to choose from. We had our Ceremony in the Barn and then surprised our guests with the Wedding Breakfast/Evening in the Tipi but we also had photos in the courtyard, in the surrounding fields and in other areas. We did end up running slightly behind but the staff weren't pushy about it, they just kept us updated and we moved things along as needed. My favourite part was the Tipi in the evening - once the firepits were lit, the twinkle lights were on & guests were roasting marshmallows, it was exactly what we had pictured and I can't thank Mel and the team enough for helping creating the wedding day of our dreams.

Could not recommend Dovecote enough!! We chose the venue for our wedding as it provided everything we had hoped for … rural setting, barn ceremony and most importantly a huge tipi. It was an ideal setting for our special day. The beautiful barn was perfect for the ceremony, and the drinks reception afterwards on the patio was relaxed with ample space for guests to sit, the confetti throw and photos. We chose a barbecue meal which was delicious and plentiful. The tipi was perfect with plenty of space for the band and dance floor. The fire pits added an extra touch to make our day special. The weather was also perfect so our day couldn’t have been better! All of the staff we so helpful and friendly from the initial planning stages to the day itself.

What a perfect wedding venue!

After over a year of looking at wedding venues and none quite being right, we stumbled upon Dovecote Events. After visiting on an open day we fell in love with the venue and within a couple of days had put down our deposit. The staff we met on the open day were really friendly and helpful and made us feel confident this was the right place for us.

The wedding day itself was the best day ever! The venue was gorgeous and the great weather meant our guests made use of the lovely outdoor space. We had lots of compliments from our guests on the food and so manty guests commented on how nice the venue was. The day flowed really well which meant we could enjoy ourselves as the team were on top of everything.

What we really appreciated about Dovecote was the flexibility they allowed us to make the day feel our own and special to us. The no corkage drinks package was great and the chefs made great suggestions in fitting the menu to our tastes. The cocktails were also brilliant and went down really well. We also had our beloved Labrador Olive there for part of the day and the team couldn't have been more accommodating.

And last but not least, a massive shoutout to our wedding coordinator Cece who was amazing in making the whole process run smoothly. From the initial conversations through to the day itself, she was incredibly helpful and kind with great ideas to make the day special for us. We were in safe hands on the day which meant we could just soak it all in, she even managed to deal with my stressed out mum’s specific requirements!
