Had a fantastic couple of hours at Bates Farm to do our annual pumpkin picking last Saturday. Great value for money as its only £12 per car to park and gain entrance to the farm and have a wonder around and meet the animals. They have a huge field with lots of different pumpkins, all shapes, sizes and colours....which my kids loved to the point our wheel barrow was too full so we had to try and decide which to keep at the end. Pumpkin prices reflect other pumpkin patches I have visited over the years but felt there was lots more variety and choice at bates farm. The farm isn't huge but I found it very family orientated, with face painting for the kids and lots of cute places to take photos whilst we enjoyed cookies and coffee from the coffee van which was also reasonably priced. Also it was really nice for one of the owners to take time out to have a chat with us and gave us some tips on how to grow our own pumpkins next year on our allotment. So thank you.
Overall a great day, weather was perfect and the farm was spot on. See you at the beginning of April for the lambing season. Can't wait to return. X

Amazing visit last weekend! The barn is gorgeous! Lots of places for photo opportunities! There were so many varieties of pumpkins to pick from. We picked some both from the barn and from the patch, some pumpkins were even still growing on the patch🎃 we also enjoyed some delicious hot chocolates from the hot drink van ☕️
It was very muddy (as expected) so don’t forget your wellies!

A fun experience for the children to see and get a chance to hold the lambs.
Insurance rules permitting, would be improved with a tractor ride, also giving the children a soft toy sheep (£2 off Ali Express) 😃🐑

I think this was our 3rd year pumpkin picking and it’s been better every time! The staff are lovely - very knowledgeable, friendly and polite. Very well managed, great coffee & food, plenty of pumpkins to choose from both under shelter and from the patch, the kids loved seeing the animals and loved the addition of the pink tractor this year. Absolutely no complaints here, we will definitely be back! Thankyou 🎃❤️

went this weekend as a group of four - £12 for a car worked it out as £3 per person!! we’ve been going for the past three years and it’s been getting better each year. it’s a literal farm so expect lots of mud and bring your wellies!! we’ve been lucky with the weather and have been able to go into the fields to pick the pumpkins but there’s a big barn full of pumpkins too in case of bad weather!! it definitely can get busy but we didn’t wait for more than a few minutes to get served/to pay for pumpkins. i paid £6 for my two which was a bargain!! we spent about an hour there total after having a wander and saying hi to the animals! the team there are absolutely lovely - so welcoming and bubbly and you can just tell it’s a proper family run business. definitely would recommend!!!

I don’t see how you could negatively review Bates Farm. People complain about the price but they have to make a profit somehow! The barn and the whole experience was lovely and super fun. This is the first pumpkin patch I’ve seen that actually grows their own pumpkins! The coffee truck is fab and the staff are so lovely. This is a farm that is family run and they have to make a profit out for the event so to complain is ridiculous, when all pumpkin patches charge for entry and charge more than Tesco for a pumpkin.

Really cute farm with plenty of pumpkins for everyone! Alongside entry to the pumpkin patch you get to walk around the farm and see/pet donkeys, piglets, sheep and calves. We went late morning and it wasn’t busy at all, there was a little horse box cafe serving delicious hot drinks and although we were too early for food the pizza van had some very tasty looking options!!

What A Lovely Little Farm! We Had Such A Lovely Time, £12 Per Car Is A Bargain Especially Compared To Some Other Places Which Can Be Up To £10 Per Person. So Many Photo Opportunities & Some Animals Aswell Which My Children Loved. All The Staff Were Lovely & Friendly & We’ll Definitely Go Back. Thank You Bates Farm
