Probably the only reason to go to The Strand these days (and what’s keeping it open/alive). The hot food here is amazing, it’s really hard to beat for a on the go meal or lunch. The Chinese chicken chunks are heavy ! Always worth the queue and do mix bags at the end of the day for cheaper and bigger portions.

Been eating here for years but has gone massively downhill over the last few months. Had bacon ribs an a cooked chicken leg, the lot went in the bin. Ribs were just gristle an fat an the chicken was bone dry!

The meat has gone majorly downhill. Sausages don’t taste great. Chop pork was hard and dry and the lamb shank and lamb chops were off the day I bought them. Been like that the last few times I’ve been thought I’d give it one last chance but I won’t be going again

One of the staff behind the cold meat counter was exceptionally rude. I don't know her name, but she has a strong Lancashire accent. She seemed disinterested and dismissive, giving the impression that she didn’t want to be there and had no time for customers.

Can't fault this place. Hot food is spot on and cheap. Butchers is affordable and top quality. Deli counter is boss. All the staff are really sound. Come here all the time.

Been going here for years and always loved the food, the hot and cold counters always been bob on, never had a problem with the food, but i agree with some of the other comments on here about the staff being as long faced as a horse at Aintree, they might need some staff training, but mainly the women at hot food counter, never seem happy then again i was in yesterday and one on cold counter looked as miserable as a cold winters day, but the worst was one of the girls on the hot counter who didn't know what she was doing, first she came back and then tried to serve another customer, so food great attitudes not so much
