Just had a seminar there about allergies. Very friendly reception staff who gave me a potted history on Birchall's. Great venu with good facilities. Just off the M65 buffet meal and beverages were well presented. Over all. Excellent.

During the first Coronavirus lockdown this supplier to commercial kitchens and restaurants opened its service up to private customers.

Although the range of products is somewhat limited compared to that found in supermarkets, and some is sold in wholesale quantities, the quality of the produce is excellent and the prices charged are generally good - similar or cheaper than supermarkets.

The limitation imposed by wholesale quantities is eased by Birchall's willingness to split bulk packs and sell them items individually.

A limitation of their click and collect and home delivery services is that it is necessary to pre-order what you require, either on the website or by telephone, but this is little different to the services offered by the big supermarket chains. The advantage is that you know that what you have ordered will be in stock and that you will pick it up [or have it delivered] at a prearranged time and not need to spend time trailing around a supermarket.

The staff are friendly and courteous, and if something is out of stock when you order they will help you find a suitable alternative.
