Do they know they are doing here? We picked up several packets of Easter chocolate which was marked at 2 for £4. At the till we were charged the full price of 11.96. Then we were told the offer was only valid if we had a Hilliers card. NOWHERE on the confectionery stand was this mentioned. The lady on the till joined us up to a Hillier's card but the till still wouldn't accept the offer. She called through to the 'office' to be told this chocolate offer was a on different weight to the ones they had on sale (those on sale were actually lighter) and then he added 'we didn't know if it would work or not'. It was only a few packets of chocolates but........................what a sloppy attitude. It sadly reflects very badly on the store. How much effort would it have taken to try it out to see if it would work!

We had planned going back next week for some of the plants they had but when they don't honour the prices on the small things, what are they like with bigger purchases There are many more garden centres in the area so won't be going back here.

My wife and I decided to take up on the excellent offer of a discounted Breakfast in January as we are regular visitors to the shop and garden centre . The offer created a very busy cafe and we were informed that there was a bit of a wait due to extreme demand , understandable in the circumstances . Sadly my wifes vegetarian breakfast did not form part of the offer but that is a minor issue . The main problem arose when no cutlery was available as we ordered so we thought no problem we will get that when food arrives . Wrong . Finally when food arrived after 20 minutes no forks available and 3 of us stood waiting as a very helpful lady from the till chased up the kitchen . Literally 4 minutes later , after managing to find an odd fork on a table for my wife to eat my patience ran out and I went into the kitchens to find someone slowly wiping some cutlery and I grabbed a fork from him to be told " not my fault we are busy ". My breakfast by this time was stone cold . As a final insult I emailed customer services and copied to the restaurant manager to complain later that day and no response whatsoever . Obviously customers are not important at this branch , such a shame

Gone downhill.
We used to visit often but won’t bother again.
We arrived at 9.30 for breakfast, we understood the voucher would make it busy but wasn’t too bad.
We had to queue for 10 mins to get a hot drink and only 1 lady, very slow one at that serving. Asked for a Tea and Filter Coffee as voucher included it. Got to the till to pay, again a very uninterested member of staff, paid for the drinks and breakfast and once paid was told there for a 30 min wait for food. That’s unacceptable to be told at that point.
Tea and Coffee served in small mugs. Half a home size. That was it. If you have tea what are you expected to do with your used tea bag Leave it on the table? What happened to tea pots and cups and saucers.

Restaurant was freezing as the door to outside is in the restaurant which used to be closed and a sign saying not to use it. Totally freezing when you have a 30/45 min wait for food.
This place never has enough staff and always issues. Hillier really needs to put some money into it and make it better. They are crying for staff but then you pay minimum wage you’re never going to get staff.
Sadly we won’t return.

We used to enjoy our breakfast here, breakfast came with a pot of tea and was always well cooked and hot,HOWEVER things have changed, you now have to pay extra for a mug of tea- no more teapots!!. Also TWICE I have had a broken and overcooked egg hidden under a normal cooked egg, very bad, the broken egg should have not been served. We have been loyal customers in the past but we will not come here again, the breakfast is no longer good value, there are lots of other nice places so Hilliers have lost our custom.

Went in to buy garden furniture no one around to help. Asked at one of the tills if someone called be called, no one arrived. Turns out you order it at the tills as well as delivery details etc, which first person mentioned it or a sign to say what to do. With no member of staff around it's difficult to know.

Went for breakfast. Disappointed. Not up to the standards we have experienced before. No pot of tea. Lame excuse that not pots available. Badly cooked eggs. Overcooked and undercooked. Overcooked hidden beneath undercooked. Toast was stale. Tiny portion compared to normal. You should be ashamed.
Went again today to give a second opinion.
Rubbish egg once again hidden underneath good egg. Debate with lady serving tea over mug not pot.
Drink is now chargeable with big breakfast.
You have lost me as a customer. Shame.

Just went for lunch with my husband and my daughter and we left dissatisfied with our meals. We all had baked potatoes which were not fully cooked - they were edible but on the hard side. My daughter had the vegan option and it was very disappointing. They had no avocado as on the menu and it was most unappetising. I don’t think we’ll be going again for food there.

Very disappointed with the one in particular woman at the check out who told me and my girlfriend we had to be 25 to buy a garden rake. Not only did we have to wait nearly 20 minutes in the boiling hot centre (23degrees) to get served due to this one lady being on her own she then tells us we cant have the one thing we came for. This however is obviously not the case of having to be 25 as even at 18 you can buy other sharper tools aswell as be classified as an adult. This woman obviously doesn't want young people to be able to start a career. I went to college for 2 years to do landscaping to be told i cant buy a rake needless to say we went else where and got one no issue at all. A while later we did some research and in the uk there is no legal age limit on a garden rake. Wont be using this place again.
