I was honestly surprised by how peaceful and lovely Mudchute Park and Farm is - it’s one of those places you stumble upon and instantly feel glad you did. You’d never expect to find so much green space and farm life just a stone’s throw from Canary Wharf.

The park is big, open, and great for a slow walk. There are sheep grazing, goats lounging around, chickens and pigs doing their thing, llamas etc, all with the London skyline right in the background. It’s a wild but beautiful contrast.

The farm area is great, especially for kids or anyone who loves animals (which, let’s be honest, is most of us). You can get pretty close to the animals, and it’s all free to enter, which is incredible.

There’s also a small café on-site for a tea or snack break, and loads of grassy spots to sit and just enjoy the calm.

If you’re looking for a different kind of day out in London, something low-key, outdoorsy, and actually grounding. This place is such a gem. I’ll definitely be back.

Discovered a hidden gem park, teeming with a variety of friendly animals. Observed chickens, ducks, llamas, sheep, and horses roaming freely in a picturesque setting. This park offers free admission, making it an accessible and budget-friendly destination. The serene environment and ample space create the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing picnic. Two mins walk from the dlr station, so good connectivity. Escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and reconnect with nature at this unique park.

This is always a fun little escape from the city. This area is a little oasis to walk through and enjoy seeing lots of farm animals up close, llamas, all kinds of birds, goats, pigs, sheep, horses. There’s also a nice area for dogs to run around. There’s a cafe area to get something to eat or use the restrooms. Hand washing stations are in few spots for people who want to pet the animals. Very kid and dog friendly.

A lovely green space in the heart of the Isle of Dogs - and with plenty of pigs, sheep, goats, llamas and chickens to boot! The cafe was closed during our visit (Good Friday) but we could still purchase food to feed the animals.

Bit sad to see litter in places - why can’t people put in the bins or take it with them?

My sister and I did a duck Animal Experience at Mudchute Farm over the weekend (3rd May) & thanks to Lily we had an amazing time. We were able to feed and hold the ducks and Lily was very knowledgeable about the animals and their handling. We will definitely come again!

I absolutely loved the farm! I got to see llamas, goats, sheep, cows, chickens, ducks, and so many birds. You can even pet the animals, which makes the experience even more special. The best part? It’s completely free! It’s also a great spot for families—there were plenty of parents with their kids enjoying the day.

The farm is near Mudchute station on the DLR, making it super accessible. A great day trip idea would be to visit the farm first, then walk through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel to Cutty Sark. From there, you can explore Greenwich Market, check out any exhibitions at the Royal College, visit the National Maritime Museum and Queen’s House, and finally, end the day watching the sunset and London Skyline from the Meridian in Greenwich Park. A perfect mix of nature, history, and city views!
