It had been close to 25 years since I last had the hard landscaping done in the garden and it really needed it! I already had a good idea of the design I wanted but, working together with Toby, he really brought my vision to life (with bells on). This wasn’t an easy garden to build with very steep Victorian stairs to bring all materials in and out of and a small space with trees in the way but Toby and Jack were troopers, never complaining, despite the many tons of old paving hiding under the rotten decking that needed to be taken out before work could begin. Toby, is more than just a landscape ‘builder’, he’s a problem solver, and his attention to detail is insane, working out odd angles due to non-square boundary walls and a sloping garden, to make sure all the cuts and joins flowed beautifully. This is invaluable to anyone needing something built that’s not straightforward. I chose Millboard composite decking (in Ashwood) for the main octagon, raised veg beds and the balcony and Indian Sandstone (Fossil Mint) for the paving. The finished result is beyond what I could have hoped for. Thank you, Toby (and Jack), for such an amazing job that had its challenges along the way but which you completed to perfection. We asked Bristol Garden Maintenance to plan a new layout for our back garden. This needed to accommodate space for an outdoor kitchen and metal pergola that was being fitted by other companies.

From the start Toby was professional and collaborative in how he worked with us listening to our design ideas as well as proposing alternative solutions.

During the build phase Toby was very thorough, checking with us at every stage that we were happy before proceeding. This allowed us to tweak things, such as the shape of the flower border and slightly extending the patio width.

Toby and his colleague Jack were friendly, punctual and worked in a very organised way, leaving the site tidy at the end of each day. We also greatly appreciated that pricing was transparent and fixed, with no hidden extras, this meant we were able to budget for the project.

We are so pleased with the final result. The patio works perfectly with the outdoor kitchen, the planting (which was done by another person) looks great and is a nice contrast to the modern and linear lines of the patio.

Toby also created a small patio for us at the front of the house with a wooden pergola. He then built wooden steps into a steep bank from the front garden which leads down to a small woodland clearing through a series of wooden arches. This was all Toby's design and demonstrates his creative approach to landscaping.

We have no hesitation in recommending Toby and Jack. They were simply great!

Contacted Toby to help us remove some large stumps in our garden where we wanted to put a shed. His communication was excellent, his price competitive and he arrived exactly when he said he would and did a fantastic job in clearing our patch! Toby did an amazing job clearing our jungle of a back garden before our house sale viewing day. He worked super hard on a very hot day and took all the waste away with him so we didn't need to get a skip. He was very accommodating and fitted in our job at the last minute when we were let down by another gardener. I can highly recommend his services and am looking forward to using him again when we move house!

Asked them for a price to sort my garden. We arranged a visit to check, they kindly showed up and evaluated the work to be done. They said they would come back to me in a few days with a budget and after chasing 3 times, never ever heard back from them (it has been over a month now).
UPDATE: I finally received a response. The delay was caused due to personal circumstances.

Toby did the most fantastic job of redesigning our garden to make it a more practical space for us and our aspiring-landscape-designer-dog. To say he worked hard would be a massive understatement. Despite often horrendous weather – having to carry everything up and down steps and though our house to get to our garden – and clients who constantly changed their minds, he worked flat out and was constantly cheerful. He was extremely organised and left things amazingly neat and tidy every day. And for the amount and quality of the work, the price he charged was more than fair. We couldn’t recommend him highly enough. Huge thanks to you (and your great assistant, Jack) for a fantastic job!
