Enjoyed The Orangery Cafe Afternoon Tea with my wife today to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The food, service and atmosphere were all 5 star making it a very special occasion. There was a good selection of finger sandwiches with a variety of tasty savoury fillings, pork pie and goats cheese tart on the bottom tier. The middle tier was almost overflowing with a delightful selection of cakes and brownies. Cheese and fruit scones on the top tier completed the presentation, the latter being served with clotted cream and strawberry jam - delicious ! I had a great coffee and my wife had a pot of tea, both of which were included. We ate until full and there was still plenty to take home for supper in a box which the staff were more than happy to sort out for us even though the Cafe was busy both indoors and outdoors around the pond. We sat indoors overlooking the gardens and it was so relaxing ! We fully recommend The Orangery Cafe and are looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely, peaceful location. Having a drink and some food whilst watching different birds. We parked at the bottom next to the shops and walked up. Will definitely return - the carrot cake was divine.

Delightful hidden gem in Whickham. Garden walk, feeders and pond await discovery. Cafe is first class with window views of squirrels and birds, as you indulge in food and drink offerings. Best spot in the town, I reckon.
