Laura Fisher's Candle Making class is highly recommended.

When you arrive, you are greeted by friendly staff who inform you of where to go as well as provide you with a list of warm drinks to select from for your tea & scone. (You can have squash if you want).
Laura then teaches you about the oil used to scent your candles, as well as clear instructions & best practices for making your candles.

You get to make a large candle that burns for 43 hours (to which you can add another 4-6 hours if you keep the candle in the fridge prior to burning).
You also get to make 6 x tealight candles with your chosen scented oil.

Whilst the candles are setting, you'll then have your drink of choice & a scone with clotted cream & jam.

After around 1 hour & 20 minutes from the start of your course, you get to take your candles home.

We perused the shop & purchased 2 x refill kits for our large candles.

We had a great time, are very impressed with the friendly & professional attitude of the staff, including with Laura herself.

We highly recommend this course & we drove just under 2 hours each way.
And we intend to go back when their tea room is up & running in April 2025.

Fantastic experience. I learnt so much and the candles themselves are brill. Unexpected extra that the excess from making your candles are made into melts you can also take home. Such a nice touch. The quality of the cream tea was lovely and even the vegan scone was dead good. We will be back!

Myself and Team Buds had a lovely afternoon with Laura at a candle making workshop for our Christmas treat!
The atmosphere in The Fragrance Lab is so cozy and welcoming. Laura explains everything so well and it was a joy to select which seasonal scents to use.
It was a relaxing, fun and informative workshop, such a lovely thing to do with colleagues, friends or family!
The afternoon tea was delicious too.

I attended the candle making workshop with my mum and sister, we all had a wonderful morning and are very happy with our candles. The step by step instructions were easy to follow and the advice and explanations were helpful and informative. The winter inspired scents to choose from for our candles were perfect.
The room was beautiful and the cream tea was a delicious treat to keep us going while we visited the shop with more delicious smells and stunning printed fabrics.

Candle Making Workshop
A fabulous evening at Laura's beautiful workshop space. Lissy and Tracey were wonderful hosts. We were carefully guided through the candle making process and learned lots of information about the high-quality ingredients. We made a large jar candle, 6 tea-lights, and some wax melts. There were so many gorgeous fragrances that it was hard to choose. The cream tea was delicious with homemade warm scones, cream, and jam. Laura has built a wonderful, inviting, and cosy space for her workshops. Her team is friendly, welcoming, professional, and very well informed. I would highly recommend doing a workshop at Laura's. Her on-site shop is fabulous too!

I got this candle making experience as a gift from my mum, and so glad we got to do this together!
Laura and her team were very welcoming and couldn’t do enough to make the afternoon great for us both. We learned a lot from this session and the candles we created I can’t wait to use. Thank you for having us.

Charming little coffee shop that is nicely decorated. Small which means noise levels are quite loud. Had to ask someone if we could order. Cakes very average and the chicken sandwich was a bit dry. Don't think we will be returning here again
