The farmhouse was a wonderful first night experience in Scotland! We were a family of nine and arrived later than expected but were greeted with a warm welcome. Lorna and Charlotte went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable. The house was immaculate and food, ,especially the warm home made banana bread, was delicious! One of the most charming bed and breakfasts that we have stayed in.

5 Stars – A Hidden Historic Gem Near Edinburgh Scotland

We had a fantastic stay at The Farmhouse! Lorna and Charlotte were the most welcoming hosts—warm, thoughtful, and full of great local recommendations. The rooms were cozy with beautiful antique furnishings, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Peaceful, charming, historic and full of heart—this is a true gem and perfect for those who can appreciate older homes.

Lorna was a wonderful host, very welcoming and accommodating. We arrived early, unannounced, she went above and beyond to get us settled. We had wonderful conversations and she had great suggestions on what to do during our stay. Her daughter Charlotte was very helpful as well even driving us to the train station so we didn't get lost. We would definitely stay again, our room was large with beautiful windows and we were offered authentic Scottish breakfast and tea!

Absolutely disgusting, stinks of rot and damp that is smelt as soon as you walk in. Floors are on a slope like the house is sinking. Door handles falling off, shower and bath not working. Narrow bumpy track on approach. Host is lovely but that place needs to be demolished . Do not recommend. Faulty Towers.

Lorna was a knowledgeable, friendly host and went above and beyond for us at short notice. We stayed in a lovely, bright and spacious family room, which was perfect for our family. The farmhouse is dog friendly and our labrador was made very welcome. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the location was lovely and quiet, which suited us after spending a busy day and evening in Edinburgh.

A farmhouse full of character ,a nice place to stay at.The hostesses were very thorough with the house keeping.The farmhouse was kept pretty much with all of its original features and therefore a distinguished highlight ,considering alot of the old built structures are refurbished to new age standards.Reasonably charged as well.

Lorne and her daughter were wonderful. After our flight got canceld, they let us check-in early so we didnt have to wait at the airport. Great place for value. Their farmhouse has a special atmosphere👍🏻
