We decided that we would try out this lovely wee farm shop and kitchen that kept popping up on TikTok.

We arrived after a mr toads wild ride on the country roads which we always enjoy.

We walked through the wee shop to thr cafe part first, thought we would look at that after we scanned.

We all went for toasties. Farm cafes are always more expensive but we knew that and if it tastes amazing we are willing to pay. Toasties were 10.95 but they include salad, crisps and coleslaw and we paired it with a cup of skin on fries to share. The bread used was so fresh and tasty and they did not scrimp on the fillings either.

I had tuna and cheese toastie, my daughter had ham and cheese and the boys had haggis chilli jam and cheese. These toasties were so tasty and filling 😋 and ingredients were so good and fresh.

For four of us plus drinks it came to 60 pounds. Yes its a bit expensive but it was for a treat and I've paid that price in a wetherspoons for dinner that was rubbish so that's how I compare it.

After that we bought a lovely olive and sea salt sour dough from the farm shop. Nice day out but be prepared to pay at least 13 each for a lunch x

Second time visiting the Heron. Group of 4 of us arrived and were seated promptly. Ordered two avocado toasts, a toastie, and a jacket potato and waited over 35 minutes before food arrived. When it did, it wasn't very warm, wouldn't say it was particularly flavoursome either. Bill came to over £50. Wouldn't say it's worth the price as I was given the heel of the sourdough and just the one slice. Seemingly no vegan options and seemingly not much gluten free. Think the food needs to be improved to justify the price and I don't think pretty simple dishes need to take that long to prepare. There are better places out there so I won't be back to be honest. Gift shop is nice.

Great little farm shop not too far from Glasgow, serving some great homemade treats and food. Coffee is good. Our milk was slightly over heated, therefore tainting the coffee. But Ally has been many times and enjoyed many espressos here. It is a nice coffee, though. The venue is light airy and spacious, with a separate door for dogs to visit in a slightly separate food area. There is plenty of small businesses to support in the farm shop. They have some fabulous outdoor seating too and a dog run (which needs to be booked at charge) worth the drive from Glasgow

Yummy food the service is super good, one of the ginger waitresses was really nice and really made our day, she was super helpful. I didn’t read the specials on the way in and she told them to us!!

We went for lunch. We arrived at a very busy time but the staff dealt with everyone very well. Smooth operation.
Food choice is limited. Fine if you want soup and a sandwich or a baked potato. Only one choice of soup though....
We were both very thankful for the specials.
I had Mac and cheese with a side order of fries and hubby had the salt and chilli chicken. We also ordered 2 soft drinks.
Bill came to £38.80
Food was fine but not worth what we paid for it
Drinks were served without an option for ice. (I have ice in all of my drinks so this is a me thing.....most other people may not be that bothered)
Nobody came to check on us once we had been served to see if our food was ok.
They have a good selection of cakes and we purchased a couple to take away and have later.
We won't be rushing back here sadly.

We had lunch here last week. A brie, bacon, and cranberry toastie and a haggis, cheddar, and chilli jam toasties. Both were very nice and worth the trip.
The farm shop was quite small, but there were some really nice things to buy.

We had arrived 30 minutes before closing time on a Sunday, after trying to find somewhere that was open after travelling through Scotland, with the dogs and children.
When we first walked in we were reminded a few times they were closing shortly, which I said we knew can we just get some drinks and cake please. Unsure if she was the owner but was very rude from the first step in there, I proceeded to order cake and drinks for our family even though we were being rudely starred at (spent about ~£25). We had to rush everything down (being watched) and get out promptly for when they closed, as to which she basically shown us where the door was, and then stared at us all the way down the steps to our car.
Overall horrible experience, I get that you’re closing but custom is custom and your attitude was far from acceptable. We actually left quite upset about the whole experience.
