This is an excellent distillery to visit. The staff are exceptional and the whole set up is ideal for your education on the production of whisky. Everything is done on site and all products are locally sourced. The distillery works with the local community wherever possible. Jackton has the advantage that gin, vodka and beer are also produced here, so there is a drink for everyone. Jackton is an good choice for a grand day out with teas, coffees and a choice of food to accompany. There is also a selection of cottages to stay in. All in all, just what you need.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit & tour. What a stunning place lovingly built by the family and so nice to see such community involvement. The whisky’s were fantastic with an excellent vodka, smoothest I’ve ever tasted and the rise and wedding gins were superb. Highly recommend a visit here.

This place is stunning. The tour of the Distillery was so informative, the spirits on offer at the tasting are well complemented by Jethro, his suggestions of pairings for the vodka and gin were spot on. He even made a whisky cocktail that I loved and I'm not a whisky drinker.

Cracking tasting experience and distillery visit. Great way to spend a few hours; business end first then tasting in the lovely bar area in the company of the friendly expert team. Drivers drams are a nice touch to ensure that nominated drivers don't miss out! Highly recommended

Yesterday, I had a fab time enjoying the Distillery Tour and Whisky Tasting, all thanks to the expert guidance and knowledge of Katie.
The venue is fab and bar area is stunning.
In less than 5 years, this family owned business have lovingly developed and produced on site 4 wonderful whiskys, 3 gorgeous gins and a victorious vodka. Their hard work is greatly appreciated. I'm really excited to see what's coming next.
If you haven't already, I highly recommend paying them a visit.

As a whisky collector with a passion for both bottles and casks, I was thrilled to discover such a professionally run distillery right on my doorstep in Jackton. Rear Distillery is truly a hidden gem, and my visit on the 11th of January was an experience I’ll not forget.

The tour, led by Colin, was incredibly personal and engaging. With only five of us in the group, it felt intimate and gave plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Colin’s knowledge of the whisky-making process from start to finish was impressive, and I came away with a much deeper understanding of the craft.

A real highlight was the flexibility they offered for drivers. Since I couldn’t partake in the samples on-site, I was given my whisky samples to take home, which was a thoughtful touch. This level of consideration, combined with their friendly and welcoming team, truly sets Rear Distillery apart.

What makes this place even more special is its family-run ethos. You can see the “boots on the ground” effort driving it forward, and it’s inspiring to witness. It’s not just about whisky either—they also produce gin and vodka in-house, so there’s something for everyone.

The tasting bar is warm and inviting, and if you want to make a day of it, they even offer on-site accommodation. Whether you’re a whisky enthusiast like me or just looking for a unique day out, I’d thoroughly recommend a visit.

Five stars from me! Rear Distillery is a shining example of Scottish craftsmanship and hospitality.

A children’s Easter egg hunt in a brewery; who’d’ve thought it.
All very pleasant.
And as for the distillery shop - fantastic.
