What a fantastic tasting session we had.

Leigh was really enthusiastic and managed to scramble well when we had messed up the booking and appeared with an extra person.

The little munchies were tremendous too. Who knew chocolate coated mushrooms were going to be so good.

I would highly recommend sampling some, or all, of these small batch drinks and got a good few bottles to come home with.

Just been to an incredible tasting session at Buck and Birch!! Off the charts amazing - you HAVE to go! So, so refreshing to connect with a company that leads with values, passion, wild native ingredients and a big heart. Love everything they stand for, but more than that, I loved the incredible tasting experience that I and my 4 guests received. Tom took us by the hand and led us through the journey of Buck and Birch, sharing with us the flavours, aromas, ingredients and process, all in the surroundings of what can only be described as a Harry Potter meets whisky room vibe!!

The drinks, cocktails and stunning food pairings were worth twice as much as we paid for them. Get your tickets guys - you will not regret it!!

I can’t say enough good things about Buck and Birch. To start, Tom is such a passionate, knowledgeable, and delightful individual. His enthusiasm for Scotland’s terrain and hyper-local ingredients adds to the deliciousness of each one of their unique and delightfully playful spirits and liqueurs. My fiancé and I came here for a tasting and were blown away by the quality and flavors presented in both the drinks and the snack pairings. Highly recommend a stop and we can’t wait to see what’s next.

Tom captivated us with his distillery's origin story while serving tasty, clever and creative cocktails, canapes and their signature liquers. The artisinal feel of their room, the presentation of the canapes, the foraged ingredients used in the drinks and paired treats, are all impeccable and Rupert's passion and talent is clear in every bite and sip. The unassuming location belies the experience inside and that makes Buck and Birch's tasting sessions all the more enjoyable. A small thing that we loved was that Tom let us pour our own liquers and when we came to "shopping" it was totally fine for us to try some more while choosing. A sign of their hospitality and confidence in their product. Can't recommend this entertaining, inspiring yet relaxed activity highly enough. Enjoy with very good friends. You will not regret it.

Just had an incredible tasting experience at Buck and Birch's magical wee shop in Macmerry. The story behind Buck and Birch was so interesting to hear and the knowledge they had of the different flavours that could be drawn out of one single plant was amazing. With amazing drinks and food pairings that you could never dream up it was a must have experience. I would highly recommend going and experiencing this wonderful experience in a small mystical wonderland!

Excellent East Lothian gem. We enjoyed a superb tasting afternoon in the uber quirky tasting room. Great drinks served in beautiful vintage glasses and amazing little nibbles. Tom and Rupert’s passion and knowledge shines through in abundance. If you’re thinking about doing it hesitate no longer, get it booked! If you found it by accident, get it booked! If you’re looking to do something a bit different, get it booked! You will not be disappointed.

Found this place by accident when researching distillery tours in the Gullane area. Distillery in an industrial estate? Foraged ingredients? This unlikely scenario is the result of two passionate guys combining their visions and producing some truly memorable spirits and liqueurs. You will sample these, accompanied by canapés such as smoked venison with dandelion capers, or wild garlic pesto with wild leek pearls.

The amazing flavours and inspirational combinations are truly mind-blowing. Forget everything you thought you knew about foraged food. An hour and a half spent with Tom and Rupert will transport you to a different world of endless possibilities.

Bought a bottle of Aelder at a food & drink show a few years ago and loved it. Heading to North Berwick, I went to their distillery on the way as it came up on my phone. Wow!! total hidden gem; they have a wee shop there full of their drinks and a tasting bar. The guys there told me more about the Aelder (and let me taste) their rum and cocktails, informing me what they picked in that area to make them. Not only are their drinks great, they are really welcoming guys with a shop full of interesting foraged goodness!!
