Great atmosphere when you first walk in to this store and you’re greeted with the friendly staff.

Picked up 2 large steak pies for the New years as this place has the reputation of making the best and it did not disappoint. Very happy with my purchase and the helpful member of staff that helped me out.

Customer service left much to be desired on my visit to buy several items and was told to "Get your hands away from reaching over my counter". There was a small notice that I had not noticed initially. It was upsetting to be talked to In the aggressive fashion. I have been a regular customer at Crombies butcher for many years but will not hurry back.

The best haggis to buy in Edinburgh. The haggis was made there in the shop. The butcher Wayne was always helpful, especially when there were too many choices to purchase. Wayne provided the best service with information.

Stopped here to buy Haggis before returning home. Ended up buying haggis,plus various sausages and pies. Really enjoyed everything we've bought so far as were able to freeze some. Beef and Heather ale and Auld Reekie sausages are both gorgeous plus the Haggis and Clapshot pies are really great too.

Simon is a complete legend! I rocked up 5 minutes after the butcher was closed and he very kindly agreed to stay on to make sure I got the food I needed for a very special meal. Thank you so much - above and beyond customer service!

Not very friendly or helpful staff, maybe they weren't keen on English accent, but Edinburgh is a tourist city. At checkout, I showed the cashier that a wrapped cheese packaging was split and open. He looked at me as if to say, "So what?", didn't offer to swap it and just stood there. I swapped the cheese, put it on the counter, and then continued bagging. Then he got angry that he hadn't scanned the cheese after I'd packed it!
A lot of the fresh produce was well past it's best, and shouldn't have been out for purchase!

Your response to my review seems to be suggesting that I have invented this entire visit to your store!
Unfortunately it did happen a couple of weekends ago, but it won't happen to us again, as we will shop elsewhere if in Edinburgh. A trip to discuss the matter with the store manager from Essex is unlikely, I think.
I was referring to loose vegetables in baskets on display, that were looking very tired and not particularly fresh.
