We engaged Dom to act as our Project Manager in the comprehensive renovation of a 250 year old farm house which hadn't been touched for 50 years. The total budget exceeded £1m.
The project lasted about 18 months.
In that time we grew to appreciate Dom's (extraordinary!) attention to detail, his practical problem solving skills, his diplomatic but firm approach with the many trades that worked on site and importantly, his quest to get the right quality of work for the right price.
Dom was central to the construction and finishing process but he also managed us, his clients, with sensitivity and understanding guiding us through the contradictory web of aesthetics vs time vs cost vs practicality.
Dom took as much pride in our house as we did. It was an absolute pleasure working with him and ultimately, even including Dom's costs, we saved roughly 40-50% from the estimates that we got from 2 main contractors who quoted on the whole job.

In late 2017, we embarked upon an ambitious programme of works to build an oak orangery and summer kitchen, a swimming pool and a pool room and changing area and a complete kitchen refurbishment. In total there are 4 separate new structures (one adjoining the existing house) and one refurbished kitchen together with a significant element of groundwork and landscaping . Overall this has been a complicated, difficult and challenging programme of works, completed with only one months delay (7 months) against the original programme plan of 6 months despite being executed in the middle of a Pandemic (Covid 19) and the resulting shortage of materials and people. There is no way which we could have achieved this on our own and we are very grateful to Dom and to the team of contractors who (on the whole) have worked hard and conscientiously for us and Dom to complete what in the end is a very impressive and pleasing result.Well done and thanks to Dom and team.To those reading this I hope you get my main message which is in my opinion, you need look no further than Dom to help you achieve your refurbishment extension projects and programmes on time, on budget and to a superb quality standard.

We used Dom from MN8 to help to guide us through the planning of a big remodelling and renovating project that involved side, rear and roof extensions. MN8 Property Consultants is a reformation of Mijan Properties that went into voluntary liquidation in 2014 leaving people with thousands of pounds of debt.

Problems included: Cost over run of £50,000, no project management, poor quality of work, no project plan, charging for materials not used, refusing to use the dispute resolution process in the contract requiring two years of legal action. Several people contacted me saying they had similar problems - names and addresses can be provided on request.
