My weekend stay at Hotel du Vin Henley was absolutely delightful. From the moment I arrived, the check-in process was seamless, and I was warmly welcomed by the receptionist, who was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the area, offering great recommendations for places to explore.

The hotel itself exudes charm, blending historic character with modern comfort. My room was beautifully appointed, spacious, and well-maintained, making for a truly relaxing retreat. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to ensure a comfortable stay.
The staff throughout my visit were warm, attentive, and always ready to assist with any request. Whether it was the restaurant, bar, or front desk, the level of hospitality was top-notch. Henley-on-Thames is a stunning location, and the hotel’s position made it easy to enjoy walks along the river and explore the town’s vibrant atmosphere.

Check-out was just as smooth as my arrival, making the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. Overall, Hotel du Vin Henley offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and excellent service. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special getaway.

I recently stayed at this hotel and, while there were some definite positives, there were also some significant drawbacks that impacted our experience.

Pros:

The bedroom was spacious, providing plenty of room to relax.

The toiletries were lovely, and the large towels and bathrobes were a luxurious touch.

The bathroom was massive, which added to the feeling of comfort and space.

Breakfast was fantastic, offering a great start to the day with a variety of delicious options.

Cons:
Unfortunately, the cons were quite significant:

Parking was poorly signposted, both on the website and at the hotel itself, making arrival unnecessarily confusing.

The TV in our room worked intermittently, and when we were moved to a second room, the issue persisted.

Throughout our stay, we often felt more like a burden to the staff than valued guests, which was disappointing.

The most frustrating issue was with the heating. It didn’t work in our first room, and when we reported it, the staff seemed unsure why. We were moved to another room, but the heating was also faulty there. We overheard other guests at breakfast mentioning that their rooms were cold as well. Eventually, staff admitted that the heating had been down since the weekend. It was frustrating that they initially implied the problem was isolated to our room when it clearly wasn’t. This lack of transparency felt almost like gaslighting, which isn’t acceptable, especially given the hotel’s price point.

Overall, while the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent, the issues with heating, communication, and customer service significantly impacted our stay. For the price, I expected much better treatment and honesty from the staff.

Stayed here for 2 nights, in a Deluxe Room, Montes Estate overlooking the courtyard on the 1st floor. We arrived at 1pm and luckily our room was ready so got an early check in. Huge comfy bed, lovely walk in shower, spotlessly clean. The bar is great for drinks, and Lizzie especially was so friendly and genuinely interested in what we were up to, a real asset to the hotel. They are currently refurbishing the reception so have taken up quite a bit of the bar space but still plenty of room to sit and chill. It's a perfect location for wandering around Henley as its right on the Thames. Breakfast service was quick and efficient.

We had our wedding at Hotel du Vin Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire.||This was a fabulous location for our wedding. ||The whole process of booking and planning was made simple by the excellent Imogen.||We cannot fault anything on the day. The rooms were perfectly set up, the food was excellent and the staff simply superb. ||Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make everything go like clockwork. ||We had 35 for the ceremony / wedding breakfast, the food and service were excellent.||100 guests in total for a music evening which was perfect in the rooms and outside space||We can’t recommend the Hotel du Vin enough, as a compact wedding venue with everything in one place it is perfect. . ||||Highly recommended

This stylish hotel is in the centre of town, close to the River Thames. The rooms were well-appointed and comfortable. Parking was limited, and the absence of a lift (it is a listed building) prevented me from giving a 5-star review.||However, the food and staff were outstanding; I rate them five stars. Lizzy, in particular, mixed a great cocktail and was always smiling and attentive when confronted with a bar full of guests. In fact, all of the staff I dealt with were great: Sanish, Ruresh, Yogeish, and Ganger.||The best tip is to seek a room on the ground floor if you're not fond of stairs, especially after a few of Lizzy's cocktails. However, the staff were willing and able to carry cases to the rooms.

Another amazing stay at HDV Henley-on-Thames. Friendly staff, a nice upgrade (without asking) and a super comfy bed. ||The room we had was facing out onto the street, but with extra secondary glazing it was quiet. All air conditioned (not that we needed that in November). Well appointed room, with everything we needed for our stay. Huge bathroom with separate shower and bath. ||Staff made us very welcome. Always super helpful and greeting us with a smile. ||HDV breakfast is always a must. Bar is excellent, and naturally a great wine selection.||Hotel has parking in the basement (chargeable separately). There is off street parking nearby if needed. ||The hotel is right next to the river, and a short walk to the town centre. The railway station is less than ten mins steady walk, and trains to London via Twyford to Paddington in around an hour. We did this journey on one of our four days. There is plenty to do around the immediate area too. ||

A little gem down by the river, this was a last minute booking for a family event. I chose the upgrade option and was so pleased I did! Staff were warm and welcoming, the hotel was looking glorious in all the festive decorations. Our room was simply stunning, loads of space and the ensuite to die for!

This was our second stay here as it is in a great location and Henley is just lovely. Again the bed was extremely comfortable and the toiletries luxurious but, there were a few niggles.

There was a bath in the actual room in a bit that jutted out over the courtyard with venetian blinds at the windows, unfortunately the blinds didn't fully block out the outside lights so our room was never in darkness and, as a light sleeper, this wasn't great at all.

Also, the toilet cistern could be heard constantly trickling, it didn't stop.

We didn't have an evening meal here so can't comment on that but breakfast was good. Loved that there was a decent coffee machine that you could use as often as you wanted.

We couldn't park at the hotel but it was only a fairly short walk to the station carpark where we could park overnight.

All in all we enjoyed our stay and would come back.
