A farm full of character, Hill Top was a wonderful break from the hustle and bustle of the city. We were looked after really well by the friendly owners. Nothing was too much trouble including delicious breakfast and a crackling wood fire when returning from a long day of hiking. The beds are extremely comfortable and rooms always cosy and warm. The countryside is stunning and there is plenty of wildlife to spot as you walk down to the village which is less than a mile away.

We had an absolutely wonderful welcome at Hill Top Farm whilst staying to celebrate my best friends wedding. It is so good in fact, that the groom, a local chap, chose to stay there the night before his wedding! The rooms are immaculate, and every last detail is taken care of, including fresh milk on the tea tray! Nothing was a problem, and the roaring log fire in the lounge provided the perfect place to eat beautiful home made cakes and have a cup of tea. Finally, the breakfasts were delicious - the perfect start to your wedding day!

The minute you arrive you will be greeted with tea and cake, and this care and attention continues throughout your stay. ||||We had the room upstairs with the en-suite bathroom, this room has a comfy double bed and a single bed as well, the room downstairs has a shower-room.||||Hill Top is very comfortable and there is a sitting room for guests, where there are lots of books for local information and wildlife generally. The hostess is very obliging, the breakfasts delicious and plentiful. There are a couple of very good eating places within a mile or so. ||||I think the WiFi only works downstairs but after a busy/energetic day, give the WiFi a rest! There is a TV in the sitting room.

We stayed at Hilltop Farm as our accommodation for the Wincle Beer Festival. We spend two nights in this delightful B&B. Our room was beautifully clean and had everything we needed with a private shower room. We didn’t make use of the lounge but this was a lovely addition and had the weather been bad then I’m sure we would have used it. ||||Breakfast was a delight, a wide choice from fresh fruit and yogurt, cereals, toast and a delicious full English. ||Susan was a very helpful host and we would have no hesitation in staying here again or recommending it to others.

Hill Top Farm did not disappoint, from the minute we arrived to this cosy b&b our stay was memorable. We were welcomed with tea, cup cakes, buttered date & walnut loaf by a cosy fire in your own lounge. Rooms were spacious, spotless and charming. Full tray service in your room. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit, yoghurts, full English, homemade jams, lemon cheese and fresh coffee. Far reaching beautiful views from the top floor bedroom. This is a working dairy farm. A gem in the countryside! The hosts couldn’t do enough for us. We had dinner at the Rose & Crown, excellent food! No hesitation in going back! Thank you!

Hill Top Farm Wincle near Macclesfield is a lovely gem of a B&B which I really should keep as a secret, but it is only fair to share it with others who appreciate what a farm in the hills can provide. I have stayed there more than once and a warm welcome always awaits those who can venture a little way out into the countryside to sample a truly excellent Farm-Stay location. The elevated location a long way from motorway and city traffic fumes means that the air is always clean and fresh. The breakfasts are always prepared to a high standard, and your host's attention to detail and care taken over providing a great place to stay is a delight. Make no mistake - this is a good one for your list of safe places to stay.

My eldery parents and I received a very warm welcome and were well looked after and catered for. The farmhouse was clean, warm and with lovely peak district views. There was a sitting room adjacent to the groundfloor bedroom for my parents to spend the entire day in when left to their own devices during bad weather. Susan even made them lunch. They relaxed, read and watched television - a proper home from home. Good road access to Salford for me, decent pub restaurants locally, superb potential for walks round and about.

A characterful farmhouse perched on the hill above Wincle. Great for walkers or for a quiet escape. The hosts were welcoming and the breakfast was delicious.
