My sister and I booked a family room with en-suite. It had two single devan beds and a large double bed. We each chose a single bed. They were very comfortable and although small , en-suite was adequate. Carmen and Steve were lovely hosts, enjoyed meeting their pet hen Chi Chi and the dogs. We stayed 3 nights and on our last night decided to have a meal out. I have mobility issues so tried booking a taxi to find they closed at 6pm so Steve very kindly drove us to the pub and collected us afterwards. Definitely recommend. The farmhouse is quite old I believe. All was very clean. Breakfast was well cooked and served. Being Coeliacs that was another issue well taken care of. Tea and coffee were also supplied in the room along with a kettle and two lovely china cups. There are also a couple of cottages you can hire although we were in the main house. I’ve included a view from our window of the garden area along with one of the cottages and one of Chi Chi the hen!

We stayed here for 1 night I would not recommend. As for them being to be “dog friendly” I wouldn’t not advise anyone to stay here if they have a dog. Upon arrival the owner had various questions as to how old my dog was and the age of my family. Then she proceeded to suggest that if I was to bring my dogs bed into the house, she would calm down. Then advised me that a bedroom has just had new carpets and would prefer my very well trained dog to not make a mess,to also not scratch her floors in the main room. Also had then said to my mums partner that myself being on the “larger size” this bed would be no good for me and suggested I slept on the sofa bed. The following morning we for breakfast provided and we went to take our dog with us as it state “no dogs to be in the rooms alone” yet we got told can we put her in the car? As we have other people in the room having breakfast We left straight away and found somewhere more accommodating. So what if it was a baking hot day? What if someone saw our dog and smashed the window?this place is not dog friendly at all.

This is a delightfully rural location with quality accommodation and facilities: however, the host is nothing but pompous and rude; and quite clearly has never received any formal training in hotel management and/or customer focus skills. My wife and I travel frequently, with the majority of time spent in the larger national/international brand hotels: where the customer is given a friendly greeting and made to feel valued. In this case we were not greeted, said host merely stating "You must be the family of four". On the basis that the accommodation is advertised as 'dog friendly' we took along our family sprockerpoo, only to discover that it was more 'dog unfriendly' - this spelt out whilst we stood in a line to be lectured on what 'you don't do' similar to the scenario of the headteacher and a group off errant pupils. More disturbing was the host taking me to one side whilst my wife, two daughters and dog were still exiting our vehicle, and stating that "As one of your daughters (aged 22) is rather on the large side, I would strongly suggest that she sleeps in the larger of the two single beds" The introduction to breakfast the next morning was a complete disaster, as, having paid beforehand, and placed a booking for 4 persons, an argument erupted with the host vis a vis the arrangements for the dog, culminating in us refusing to partake of the breakfast, thus packing and leaving as quickly as we could. ||

Well where do I start !. Lady was rude to my partner when asked about pool even before we arrived . could we use as it was advertised. . oh they don't have pool to use insurance was excuse but was told on arrival it hasn't been used in 15 YEARS and we were the 4th person. Who asked this .. WHY ADVERTISE if not available. Pictures need removing !! Room tired and smelt stale no wardrobe and rules stuck to desk no crisps no takeaways .. breakfast £10 pp .. when we thought it was included .. but apparently that * room was cheaper thats why no breakfast . not shown in Booking or different rooms different rates . Our * bathroom end of hall not ensuite .. carpeted bathroom, ironing board in corner . Sat on bed it creaked badly .centre lampshade dirty . Drawers needed a wipe ... just generally tired and needs a makeover n clean . When we asked when if wanted breakfast does she need to know. We were told now ! OK. We decided then to leave. When outside and said it's not for us we leaving . Had a mumble under breath and they walked off forcing us to leave keys on outside table then a call you have taken keys if you dont return them we will charge you ! Not a reply when we clarified where we left them or a sorry you were miss led re website ! We have stayed in quaint/quirky places on airbnb and enjoyed those so bnb we thought great especially with a pool . And farm and dont mind old and quaint but old and tired and rudeness .. not a good thing . Have had bread ,brownies wine milk .. etc left for us in previous places over and above .. but this nothing to make you feel your welcome .. not expecting this in bnb but a warm welcome and breakfast.. tbf even a coffee amd croissant if (**cheap room ) would been ok !! . This needs to be visited by websites advertising . As previous visitors also mention brusk.. controlling and unfriendly people .tired place and not accommodating to guests. ..stay in travel.lodge
premier inn or ibis nearby for same price . Better rooms and you know what you getting .

Well designed cottage, ideal for a short trip. Beautiful views. It looks idyllic. However, delve a little deeper .... The two beds in the small bedroom are child's beds, not full size. The shower tray is slippery, no handrails and the step up to the shower is dangerous for those with mobility issues. The beds were hard and, as we suffer with severe arthritis, very uncomfortable. Our 20 year old son agreed. We slept on top of the blankets to make the beds usable. The best bed was the bed settee, which says a lot for the other beds. We left a day early because of lack of sleep. The access to the cottage is sloping but not marked as such so constitutes a fall hazard. Curtains are stained. Very dissatisfied, wish we hadn't gone. Lack of comment when we complained about the beds, the comment was "oh, right".

The cottages are very clean, cosy and warm and the hosts are lovely and very welcoming. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had a nice breakfast included at an additional cost.|I would highly recommend and would definitely book here again.

Very rude owner I would advise people not to book here unless you want your family members to be insulted...|Says it's dog friendly but wasn't allowed to take our family dog who is a very well behaved dog into the breakfast area ...|We had already paid for this and decided that if the dog wasn't welcome that we wouldn't go either (never had a refund either|So all in all AVOID !!

It's really good to find a place like this. Room was quite large and well furnished with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was fresh and tasty with everything that you want. I've added it to my favourite list so we'll be back.
