Epic atmosphere in the Ox Barn - staff and service were impeccable from the lady that took out coats to bar and waiting staff, Chef, Maitre d’Hotel. Beautifully lit. And the food…we had oysters and beef tartare, the pork and monkfish with delicious home grown greens and potatoes. Utterly tasty and enjoyed each mouthful. Good cocktail and wine list accompaniment. The staff and service of all in the restaurant was brilliant. I love this place and want to come and stay.

Gorgeous rooms in the most beautiful hotel. High attention to detail with stunning fabrics and furnishings. The Bertioli products by Thyme are sensational and I had great joy in purchasing some from the shop before leaving. The Ox Barn had a great atmosphere and delicious food. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

Beautiful location. Gorgeous buildings and grounds. Fantastic massage. But underwhelming service on arrival. Incredibly difficult to find in the dark. Poor signage and inadequate lighting. And although we were delighted to (and did) pay tips to masseur and waiting staff we were shocked and unimpressed to find a further ‘service charge’ added to our (already expensive) room. Given that we only stayed one night so didn’t need any additional ‘service’ we were not happy. Never had this added to any hotel stay before. And I was charged £100 for no show at Ox Barn despite us actually having eaten there!! I do feel they could have taken care to check this before charging me. Left us feeling very disgruntled on departure. Felt like the hotel was taking advantage which was a shame given the loveliness of so much of the stay. Or perhaps you need to be too rich to notice the odd extra random charges if you want to stay here!!

Fantastic setting and very pleasant place to relax for a stay, was shocked to find a service charge of approx 22 pound hand been added to my room on top of the 450 pound nightly fee. If charging that much for a room I don’t see why a service charge is required. Cocktails were also pricey at over 20 pound each and also this came with an additional service charge. These elements tarnish a stay that otherwise was very pleasant.

The most beautiful hotel and gardens, we spent a wonderful weekend here. The Oxbarn restaurant has the most delicious seasonal menu with lots of fresh produce from the amazing kitchen gardens which we were kindly shown around. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful, great Bircher muesli and fresh berries and a delicious pressed apple juice with carrot and ginger. Really special place to visit, stunning location, great pub across the road and good for country walks. There is a very stylish pool and spa too! |We loved looking around the old Saxon church on the estate with beautiful stonework from different centuries as it has been modified over the years. Really interesting place.

This is a beautiful property and you could think you were on the set of a period film. The rooms were very clean and tidy. The bed and pillow fabulous. From start to finish it was a delightful experience. The restaurant and bar were also fabulous

The location and layout of the hotel was lovely, and staff were friendly. It was let down by the food - either the prices needed to be lowered or the quality needed to be higher. I could pay less for a Michelin star dining experience in Brimingham and the food was not to this standard.

Thyme is one of the best properties I’ve ever stayed at. I went with my extended family of 10, and we stayed across 6 rooms for 4 nights. Our experience was unmatched. From months prior, the staff was extremely helpful and hospitable in helping us plan our holiday — booking cars, dinners, private events, suggesting day trips, and being very flexible and accommodating with all of our many requests, preferences, and dietary restrictions. ||Thyme has something for everyone — I could imagine coming back with a smaller group or a bigger group, and having a fantastic time either way. Enjoying a quiet holiday mostly on the property, or rambling around the nearby towns. You can really make it your own, and the staff is mindful of all your needs and preferences in helping your execute on your dream holiday! ||The property is gorgeous and immaculately maintained. The gardens are some of the most beautiful I’ve seen in the world. The food is delicious, and everything is grown on the estate - I think I ate more than I’ve eaten before, and never felt too full or sick because everything was fresh, clean, and so well prepared. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, very well maintained, and all with splendid views of various parts of the grounds. ||We played tennis everyday, enjoyed a n large breakfast of fruits, pancakes and eggs at Ox Barn (which I will sorely miss), had Bertioli massages at the spa (the most relaxing spa experience I’ve had!), had a private dinner with 15 people at The Swan, played scrabble at Baa Bar, and bought some homegrown souvenirs at The Boutique. ||Whether it’s your first or your 20th time to the English countryside, I cannot recommend Thyme enough. We will all definitely be coming back, and I hope to stay for even longer next time!
