Fantastic food, the menu has some great dishes on and specials are also good. My wife had the blackened Cajun chicken and Jambalaya with Peri-Peri oil, I had the Sunday roast beef dinner, with Yorkshire pudding, gravy, roast potatoes, new potatoes, slice of carrot, red cabbage with orange, cabbage and peas.
The food was amazing, I recommend booking, dog friendly outside and in the tap room.
Micro brewery on site with a great choice of ales, very friendly staff.

Called here after an amazing walk around Birchover. Not the most atmospheric pub although there were a few people in. The food was absolutely stunning,no complaints there at all but we felt like both the staff that were there that day Saturday 16th November just didn’t want to be there and I hate to say it a bit miserable. Such a shame as it’s a lovely place. We will call again though as we enjoyed the outstanding food quality.

Lovely little pub down the road from a great campsite, barnfarm.
The staff here are very helpful (thanks Josh), although they were very busy they managed to fit us in and get us two fantastic meals out.
I had the trio of pork, three little pigs. The food was amazing, in fact really high standard, was not expecting it from a small local pub. Katie had the warm pork pie which was "yummy".
Would definitely go back, would advise others to book in advance.

Visit last night was very quiet with two other couples eating. Not a large menu but a good selection of pub favourites at a reasonable price. We went for a very tasty lambs liver, mustard mash and seasonal veg with gravy. Followed by sticky toffee pudding and homemade Bakewell tart with custard. They also brew their own beer on site and they allowed you to have a taster, settled on two pints of Bircher best.
Best to book as during the summer both local pubs are well supported by locals and many tourists. Well recommended.

What an amazing little gem in the heart of Derbyshire. The service was good and offers locally brewed beers and as a non beer lover I would say it is worth the try to see of you like it (ask var staff for a sample).

I have attached some pictures of this beautiful setting. Book a table or get walk in service and has card pavement facilities.

Family friendly, walker friendly and dog friendly. Perfect for a local walk and retreat to here on return.

The menu outside drew us in because of the choice of dishes different from normal pub grub all at a reasonable price.
Inside it's a warm welcoming pub run by a young family who were extremely friendly and somehow also manage to run a micro brewery.
For dinner we shared the calamari with sweet chili dip for a starter which was very tasty and a good sized portion even between two of us. For mains my husband had sea bass linguine which was full of flavour and very well presented. I had succulent rack of lamb with smooth, creamy mash, a carrot that was somehow almost a meal in itself and greens. It was the greens that sealed it for me!
We will return when in the area again.
