I stayed for two nights in Curlews Cabin and it was an absolute delight. A haven of quiet and calm - I loved watching the nights creep in from the porch swing and then retreating inside to the cosiness of the woodburner and a very comfortable bed.

This week has been truly wonderful, miles away from the noise and speed of the city we are surrounded by the beauty and peace this perfect farm offered. It is a working farm, just what we were looking for, which has exceeded all our expectations. From blackberry picking down the lane to playing on the campsite park my 4 year old was easily entertained though it was the farm itself we loved the most.||||The farmer and his wife offered a warm welcome as we arrived and have ensured we have been comfortable all week. The little cottage was just perfect for us and we were in awe of the farm as we went on our tour. From the state of the art milking shed where the cows are free to roam to feeding the pigmy goats my little boy was in his element. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. ||||Every day we found new places to visit making the whole experience an excellent holiday. If you are looking for a rural holiday in the countryside and are wanting to understand the life on a working farm then we can’t recommend this enough. This is definitely somewhere we will come back to, especially when my 4 year old wants to camp. A huge thank you to the farmer and his family for offering is so much of their time considering how busy they are. Highly recommended.

Fabulous working farm with a couple of beautiful hand-built cabins to rent and a campsite.
The owners are lovely people and the cabins they have are wonderful!! The farm is so peaceful and is lovely for walks.
Situated 5-10 minuets drive to local amenities and have good fishing facilities close by.

My family have stayed here twice and it was finally our chance to visit too.|We stayed for August Bank holiday weekend. We have an air tent with electric hook up and our pitch was beauitful.|We were overlooking the gorgeous Herefordshire valleys, even in torrential rain it was a stunning view.|Our pitch was on a slight slope down the bottom but I honestly it was great because the weather was truly abysmal at times and the ground wasn't boggy at all.|The amenities are basic yes, there is one shower and two toilets each for male and females but they are more than adequate and kept clean despite being on a working farm. |Bare in mind this is a working dairy farm, if you don't like farms then it's not the site for you. If you want all the mod cons in terms of campsites then look elsewhere but we absolutely loved it there. |Farmer Tim is fantastic with the kids. He takes them on a train ride daily with a quad, his gorgeous dogs following him around the farm. It's a pound a go but worth it to see how happy it makes the kids. They go veggie picking also. There is a farm tour and you get to see how well cared for the cows are. Its a refreshing change of pace. |There is a kids play area and a tube for them to slide down, our kids all got completely muddy and dirty but they absolutely loved it and we enjoyed seeing them all get back to nature. |The local area is great, plenty of shops close enough to drive to if you run out of basics. |This is a fantastic little site and we will be back regularly. It feels like a home from home. |What more could you want? |

We had a good weekend, although we were disappointed with the campsite. Although there are 18 pitches, only two were occupied all weekend, which was us and another family. This seemed really strange as it was the first weekend of the school summer holidays so we expected it to be really busy. It feels like they are maybe winding the camping operation down a bit.||||Things didn't start off great when we got there Flo, one of the farm dogs, had a poo by our car and I had to ask Tim to clean it up. The farm dogs roam free, so this is a bit of a problem. Then after about an hour Tim came over to our tent moaning at my son for leaving the toilet door open and the light on, when in fact none of us had even been to the toilet!!! It turned out it was his own grandson who had done it - he did apologise when he realised, to be fair to him.||||The grounds are well maintained, and there are some lovely views. We pitched near the bottom corner by the play area as it was fairly flat, and a bit less windy than up the top. The toilets were pretty clean, although the mens shower temperature control didn't work and so it went from cold to extremely hot in the space of about a minute. The sink taps also had very high pressure which meant you soaked yourself every time you wanted to wash your hands. I ended up using the outside sink instead which was ok. My wife also complained about the shower, saying the pressure was way too low ad it was little more than a drip. Such as basic thing, but when you are camping, the very least you want, and should be able to expect, is to get a decent shower.||||We also asked Tim for a farm tour (advertised on their website) and were told no, because there wasn't enough of us. The other family also asked, and were given the same answer. Never mind the calf feeding or egg collecting they also advertise, there didn't even appear to be any chickens on the farm. Pretty much all of the farm was off-limits. It just made the whole reason for staying on a farm seem a bit pointless. There are also no on-site facilities for buying basics like bread or milk, and you can't walk off the site because it's a main road with no pavements, so we had to drive everywhere.||||Despite the campsite being a let down, we still had a good weekend, but I don't think we will be going back.

My sister and I with her dog stayed at BLUEBELL COTTAGE which is part of the farm house. If you enjoy the REAL Country life this ideal. Even down to the country aromas. As you are right in middle of a working farm. Tim,Karen, and family are so welcoming. Cottage and countryside are REALLY good. A lovely adventure.

The campsite itself was quiet and nice. The play area was really appreciated by the children and the farm tour was a lovely touch. The showers and toilets were clean but the rooms they were in had lots of dead spiders on the walls and really need a deep clean and lick of paint.

We were looking forward to our stay at Curlews Cabin as it looked beautiful. However, our trip was spoilt by the attitude of Tim. We accidentally drove through the campsite ( only a couple of campers) which essentially took us to the same spot we should have met Tim at ( in front of the farmhouse). We rang to let him know and received short shrift. He barely acknowledged us but indicated we needed to follow him in his golf buggy to the cabin. When we got to the cabin he complained that his wife had spent ages writing directions which a lot of people hadn't followed. This begs the question how understandable they were. This really shouldn't have been an issue but he kept mentioning it, to the point I was ready to turn around and leave. He went on to tell us he voted Brexit, hated the BBC & Jeremy Vine. We'd asked to have a tour of the farm in an email and also on arrival but this was ignored ( notice this has happened to a few other guests). I need to point out that at this point he did apologise, however first impressions last and this did not make up for the way he'd spoken to us. ||We were handed some air freshener for the loo, advised not to wander around the farm on our own & off he went ( after telling us he was winding down the camping as it wasn't worth it & people were disrespectful, especially those from the South East). When we tried to use the shower there was no hot water but we did not feel we could raise this with Tim because of his attitude. ||We didn't see either him or his wife after that. When we left, we texted to say we were about to set off, we didn't receive a response. Just a quick wave as we drove through the farmyard. ||Certainly no home made biscuits or friendly helpful notes left in the cottage. ||||The cottage is beautiful, the wildlife was wonderful, the lake is beautiful and the surrounding area is beautiful. What really spoilt this was Tim's attitude, we felt like we were imposing on him and we certainly wouldn't stay here again.
