Tucked away (although very close to Queenswood via a dirt track), and an unexpected delight if you’re in the mood to expand your knowledge of domesticated hens!

The goats and sheep in the open are fun to watch, but this is not a petting zoo and it’s clearly a working farm.

Inside the barns, an impressive selection of hen breeds await, with considerable information on the specifics of each type. You can also purchase most of what you’d need in order to keep and care for egg-laying hens at home β€” feed, bedding, coups etc.

We met a couple of the staff there, who were friendly and happy to answer our questions.

Fantastic little trip to go and see the animals and my daughter absolutely loves the pygmy goats.....at least until they tried to lick her hand. On site cafe too which was nice for ice creams in this warmer weather. Must visit again!

I love this place, its a great easy going place to take children, for free... All they ask is for you to visit the tea shop; hardly a chore!
The ducks follow you whilst you walk to see the goats and alpacas.
The cakes a really nice and generally a good selection.
The kids lunch boxes are a bit on the expencive side, but as a treat and only one child that wanted one it was fine.
