Vera's is a lovely cafe situated in a garden centre. There was a good variety of meals on offer as well as cakes and bakes. My partner had a breakfast which he was very happy with. It arrived quickly and the portions were good. I had a sausage sandwich with added bacon and a hash brown which cost extra. We both had a coffee which was great.
We will definitely go back...good food, lovely staff and good value. 1

An unusual experience. We were guided to our table by a charming gent and within a minute of settling down, a waitress wanted to take the order.
We were told that having sat down at 11:30, breakfast had just finished and the lunch menu didn't start until 12:00.
What would have been more helpful could have been to highlight what we could order, rather than what we couldn't.
Our order included a sausage roll, either hot or cold. We made the mistake in selecting hot. It arrived microwaved rather than baked and therefore had a disappointing soggy pasty.
The cafe was not busy, there were plenty of staff buzzing around.
No five minute check or enquiry of the experience during payment at the till.

I’ve taken my family to Vera’s multiple times now and every time we’ve had a fantastic time. The food is excellent, the service is amazing- always a smile on the server’s faces and it’s a really lovely place with both inside and outside seating. I’d really recommend the afternoon tea as it was delicious and the ladies were really attentive. Highly recommend

Vera’s has become my favourite place to go for a cream tea, although all food served is tasty.
The cafe/restaurant is always spotlessly clean, the staff are always helpful and friendly and the food is delicious.
There is an added bonus that Vera’s is part of a garden centre that also offers a small scale grocery store and lots of healthy plants to peruse whenever I visit.

Our 1st visit today 22nd January.
We were greeted by a young lady and told we could sit where we liked as we arrived at opening time.
My husband order the big wellie.
I order two toast poached egg sausage and bacon. Presentation was superb.
But. The sausage had a strange sour odour. I smelt it my husband smelt it, took a bite and immediately removed it. It was not nice my husband did the same. I went up to get some jam for my toast. And quietly told a staff member. The sausages were not nice they were on the turn. She asked if we would like more, I politely refused and said we had almost finished our meal. We not once got a visit to ask if our meal was OK. Nothing !! We went up to pay and again not a word was mention. No staff interaction, no inquiry as to our meal nothing. After owning and running Restaurant all our lives we were quite amazed at the lack of customer empathy
No interaction with the customer at all. We know 1st hand that reviews are important. That's why we didn't make a fuss. But your staff need to be trained in customer service. Hence our review.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Dropped in for breakfast at the end of our boating holiday.

Had Big Wellie breakfast and a Flat White. Coffee was served piping hot.

Breakfast was tepid when it arrived and my poached egg was hard, otherwise the food itself was excellent quality and very tasty.

Serves a wide selection of cakes (Inc gluten free option) and tray bakes, although we were too full for anything more.

Venue had plenty of tables, and felt a little clinical, although we loved the interesting light arrangement.

Very popular. Arrived at opening time and it had filled up by the time we left.

Will try again when back in the area

Suddenly very strict & unhelpful regarding substitutes. If you don't like something you don't have to have it. But you must still pay for it.

Nice place but having dogs we sat outside which was in the open obviously it isn't as nice and cosy as sat indoors which is a shame as just a little bit of thought it could a pleasant experience for pet owners as much as it is for those able to sit in the warm
Weather isn't that good in the UK most days nothing under cover no patio heaters etc
Looked at strange by those in the warm with their coats off whilst we were sat with thick coats on scarves and hats 😅 trying to eat our food before it went cold
Saying that food was good it's a lovely garden centre
Next time we would pick a warmer day
But nice pet owners have the option to eat there if that's what they want
