Liked: This place is beyond awesome! The tents have everything you need to have a comfortable stay, amenities are handy and well maintained and the swimming pond is a major win. Would definitely recommend to all - we went there with our 3 year old who loved it but there was a real mix of families/couples/ages there. Close enough to a major train station for us to bike to the site but enough out in the country side to feel like you are getting back to nature.

Disliked: Nothing - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Had a wonderful few days here with my family of two young adults and a preteen. The bell tents were generously sized, cozy and dry with plenty of room for the four of us. The communal kitchen and lounge area was great with shared fridges to store perishables, kettles for a brew, comfy seating under canopy along with dining areas plus a few board games to hand to keep us entertained. The fire pits were excellent to huddle around with our beverages of choice and toasted marshmallows. The BBQ smokers on site got used everynight and with Sainsbury's, Tesco and Lidl all within a short drive it was easy to stock up on food and coals. The site owners are wonderful and made sure we had logs, kindling and fire lighters every night for the fire. The toilets and shower areas were clean and well lit. The swimming lake on site was really special and still quite warm considering it was pretty much the end of summer. We brought our own paddle boards but we could have made use of the canoes at the side of the lake. There's a map of the depth and layout of the lake, which is an excellent idea so observes can tell paddlers to swim a bit or simply stand up when they fall off their boards! 🤣. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will definitely go again!

The place was amazing...this was our second visit, and every time Josh and his team amaze us with the services they provide. The kids have absolutely loved camping since we stayed at this place. There is lots to do to keep them busy and for us to relax and enjoy a quiet evening.
The toilets and shower room are always kept clean and tidy and stocked with tissue paper. The communal tent has three fridges now with one of them American style with a freezer, which came in handy to store the meat for barbecue. There is also two kettles and a toaster as well as socket to charge your phone. The only thing that is missing is a microwave and an airfryer 😁 (only suggesting), but seriously, no complaints whatsoever.
Overall, we have had a great stay, and we would definitely recommend it for family and friends.

Liked: Clean facilities, plenty of little helpful extras like hand wash, kettle and outdoor games. Canoeing on the lake was great fun.

Disliked: Freezer didn't work. One selling point was the ability to charge phones in the communal tent but there was actually only one free plug for everyone staying on the site to share

We recently stayed and had a brilliant time. Lovely and peaceful, the tents were great, a nice lake for swimming and canoeing too. Only downside for myself is not allowing dogs but I completely understand why places don’t allow dogs also! We will be back 🙂

Thank you, Josh and the team, for organizing an amazing team overnight. As Hunter & Gather, an ancestrally inspired lifestyle brand, we sought a location for our team overnight that aligned with our love for nature.

We rented the entire site, which included well-equipped tents with comfortable beds and bedding, and a large communal tent. This tent was ideal for our presentations and later became the hub for team games and late-night conversations around the fire pit. The facilities were clean and featured beautiful hot showers and toilets.

Just down the hill, there is a picturesque lake perfect for swimming, with a fun jetty for dive bombs, kayaking, or simply enjoying the view. Around the lake, we rented the amazing Sauna Yoku. Charlotte, the owner, hosted thought-provoking mindfulness sessions for our team, fitting wonderfully into our relaxing afternoon. We also engaged in hot and cold therapy using the sauna and lake.

In the evening, Bob the Hog provided a hog roast to feed the team. Let's just say, the crackling was outstanding!

Holmsted was the perfect fit and incredibly accommodating. If you're looking for a place to host a work overnight, party, or family event, look no further!

Liked: Good size area for kids to play safely including football; wild swimming and kayaks; excellent facilities such as communal fridge freezers and charging points; a covered communal area with tables chairs and sofas for eating and gathering, particularly when raining; good (warm) shower facilities; size of site and positioning of bell tents not cluttered and well spaced; lovely views and relaxing; last but not least really lovely friendly staff!

We loved our stay last summer. So much space for the kids to run around safely and the lake on a hot day is awesome. Very handy for Brighton and local attractions and lots of food options nearby. The stretch tent with sofas, fridges, kettles, toasters and charging points is super handy and great showers too. It's a really well thought out place. We will be back.
