We decided to stop here after a nice walk at the beach.

On entry I was immediately aware of the crammed seating arrangement. I think the tables have been dangerously crammed in!

I asked to sit on a table which is likely for 8 as it was to the side and away from crammed area. I was told no as only four of you. I was quite offended when halfway through my meal another group of 4 were sat there and there plenty of tables for 4 available.

Food was good, my only complaint was that the hunters burger was drowning in bbq sauce which made it very messy and hard to eat.

A big issue for me is when restaurants use sauces in sachets, why! Unenjoyable to open and not great for the environment.

Would I come here again? no, the crammed seats is too much and greedy on the owners part.

Very pleasant olde worlde cafe. The ambiance is very quaint with wooden tables, old fashioned decor etc but it works really well in the location. Only came for coffee and a humongous slice of millionaire flapjack both of which were delicious. They also do reasonably priced breakfasts, fish and chips, burgers, Sunday roasts, afternoon tea. They have a dog friendly garden room attached as well. Well worth a visit especially if you have been visiting Lathams next door and fancy something different to their cafe.

Sunday morning 19/11/24.
After a long walk over the broads we decided to grab a coffee for the walk back.

Totally confused by the signage.
The sign at the door says
"Order takeaways from the serving hatch"
But the serving hatch displays a sign that says
"Come on in, we're open"

So we waited at the hatch, 2 minutes, 3 minutes, 4 minutes. Nothing.

Decided to go in and ask if we could order inside? Nobody in the queue inside, instructed by the lady on the till to wait outside.
So back outside we went, I rang the bell at the serving hatch, ignored for a full 6 or 7 minutes. Still nobody in the queue inside.
Again, I rang the bell, this time quite loudly which seemed to make a few of the staff standing around jump!

Finally someone opened the hatch. The lady stated very abruptly "You can come inside to order coffee" to which I explained we'd been in and asked and was told to go back to the hatch, where we'd been standing for over 10 minutes now. To which she replied very sharply "We're very busy sir" I again looked at the counter, still nobody in the queue. I replied "Yea, it looks busy"
To which she said "Do you want coffee or not"? again very sharply. I declined the invitation as I thought her attitude would curdle the milk.

So we went next door, Flour & Bean where it did seem very busy but the staff were friendly & efficient and the coffee delicious.

I refuse to be ignored & spoken to like a child while trying to spend money at your establishment.

A real treasure on the river between the broads.

This quaint place is popular amongst locals and visitors and easy to see why.

The cakes are sensational and the meals are great portion sizes and cooked well.

A varied menu of mains and sweets there will be something for someone.

served a welcoming hot chocolate or drink tasty ice creams and cake

A car park is close with views of ducks boats and rivers just across the way.

Quick friendly and polite service, highly recommend a visit.

Been coming to the broads for years and never yet been in. Visited today what a lovely place, it's absolutely beautiful inside, the staff are all so welcoming and friendly and the food delicious. Had to take some of those amazing sausages rolls home and the cakes are divine. Now decide to make here our first port of call before picking the boat up. Thankyou for a wonderful experience here.
